Yeah, though I am not a musician, I have a great respect for Polish culture, especially the music, dance and CHOPIN, one of the masters of romantic music. He is my favourite composer.

So what do the Polish gals think about piano or Chopin's music? If I may ask?

- I'm not a Polish girl, but if I were, I'd consider Prelude in e-minor one of the very greatest pieces of music ever. Plus a few other Preludes, Nocturnes and ballads.
:)

I love piano music, and I like Chopin's music. But this is kind of music wich most often people want to listen only in homes. Hmm...about my friends...some of them really likes this sounds :)

What a strange question. :) From the look of things I would say that there are definitely more fans of obnoxious German techno than Chopin music. :)

I like Chopin. One of my favorites. Played him and Bethoven since 3 years old.
I attended an all girl catholic liceum in Poland and when I played the prelude in e minor all the girls were surrounding me. One even said she loved this piece so much that she could marry me.....she was only kidding!!!!!!

So if I could arrange a bit of Chopin on the banjo, I could be on to a winner next time I'm over there on holiday.
Failing that it would have to be banjo disco polo (my mind has just warped so far it is now sprained).

My faves are Bach and Mozart. Chopin is amazing. It is surprising that he only wrote for piano.

interesting. Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I believe many people now a days like the more funky stuff, but frankly I enjoy the waltz, the funky stuff I can do too, but not that good.

Beethoven is awesome too, he is my second favourite composer.

I have some classmates who are of Polish descent, and Chopin seems nonexistent to them. :(

It was my teacher at school that I really didn't like.. So it wasn't much of an option. I ended up quitting my private lessons I had for an hour and half once a week because she put me off the whole thing alot. I might start again once I leave school and stuff, who knows.

Thats good. I'm no Polish boy, but still understand Poland's hidden language within Chopin's music. Quite odd, the new generations (just generalizing) (since the 50's) don't even appreciate him.

I've done a number of research and performances of his, and I've found that many of these modern "composers" are just cheap knock-offs of Chopin's music. Listen to the Marche Funerbe (not the Piano Sonata...the indep. piece), and you'll recorganize many of the melodies used in today's music.

Teach your Polish girl about Fred's music. She'll surely appreciate it.

He wrote more than for Piano. As a youth he wrote Piano Concerto's, which actually involve an orchestra.

He also wrote many "Songs".

Sometimes even Wyspi likes such music. Chopin is okay but anyone knows Hochzeitstag auf Troldhaugen? I love it!

plus that boy is kinda cute, isn't he? : )

Yeah that is Wedding day at Troldhaugen by Grieg, I love it too. One of the other works I like besides Chopin. I have the orchestrated version. I love that one.

So yeah, I hope some Polish girls still like Chopin.

I would love a girl who could play Chopin.
