It's also a tradition - and with your attitude, it wont be long before Poland is like the UK :(

See... I respect traditions. But this tradition is motivated by a false ritual.

Its ... not even a much prefered tradition. I have seen its practice decline... and I am happy about that. Because...its really slowly prooving to be abit meaningless. But ofcourse, for those who want it... they can go ahead...

You can do many things... if you want... its your life.

How can a kids Christianity be logically secured by the so called 'good aunty' :D .. hilarious.

It's a tradition not just a Polish one, I personally think it's a great honour and something that should continue.

It's not our tradition! It's a tradition of the monotheistic intruders who imposed their superstitions upon my ancestors over a millenium ago. Haven't you ever heard of Pagan Uprising in Poland after it had been officially converted to christianity?

Hopefully that thing you called tradition is fading away and we will be an eye witnesses of a big demise of the Polish catholic church (unfortunately we'll be too old to fully celebrate it). It's not a tradition it's a malignant tumor devouring and deteriorating us from the inside. A grasping bunch of catholic clergy ready to renounce their nationality for the sake of their needs and for the sake of foreign god! Svetovid, Svarog, Jarowit, and many others - that is the Real Tradition originated on the Slavic Soil and butchered by a christian savagery!

no that is your brain on drugs..

people can make their own choices, why cause a war over a baptism? is that
why you posted? to state your objection of something that graces a child.
not everyone stays within the catholic religion, and it doesnt make people
either, so your FIGHTING attitude is the very reason why religion is become
a bitter part of mans life because you oppose his choice.

what gives you the right? you do what makes you happy dont you?
so others cant be happy? no one forces you to be catholic. no one forces
you to be anything.. so back off.. its not your life or your child.. be the
controller of your own.!!!!!!!!!!!!! and be respectful to others.. thats not
religion, thats part of life!! Dork!

It doesn't grace it. It means absolutely nothing. Sprinkling water on a child's head doesn't interfere with anything. It's just wetting its head. It doesn't make the kid better in any way than 70% of unbaptized Earth's population.

Patrycja19:

what gives you the right?

Years of catholic education I didn't ask for.

Patrycja19:

no one forces you to be catholic. no one forces
you to be anything.

Indeed. No one forces me to be a catholic. At least not anymore, now its only a pressure.

Have you ever heard a rumble in a catholic home (especially at the rural environment) just after one kid admited its parents that it had a different outlook on life?
I am respectful to people but not necessarily to their ideas. Religion fanatics are disrespectful to both.

None of my children are baptised. Some of my earliest and fondest memories involve my Godmother bringing me to buy presents on my birthday. Recently I have been thinking that I have denied this tradition to my children but then they will have their own memories.

The role is the same that's why it's called Catholic.
