are polish people becoming more conscious of their appearance in larger cities?

are tanning beds or spray tans becoming more popular in Poland?

are skin care products a high prioriety to the average Poland person?

Surely anyone who cared about their skin would steer well clear of tanning beds?

That was what I was wondering... I find that the range of skincare products and salon / spa treatments is far better in Poland than in the UK.

Cosmetics seem to be pretty expensive in Poland, roughly the same price as in the UK. I know a few girls who stock up when they visit relatives who live in Germany.

Really? Have you been in Boots / Selfridges of late? I found that in general they were more expensive - was stupid enough to leave my make-up bag and moisturiser at home the first time I visited Poland - so I had to purchase quite a bit :(

Spa treatments I havent tried in Poland but have indulged in, in the Czech rep and I can agree that they are on parr with quality in the UK but considerably cheaper.

I'm never out of Selfridges....

I was thinking more along the lines of day-to-day stuff that you'd pick up in a regular drugstore. Was comparing with what you'd find in somewhere like Superdrug.

Get yourself out there, my girl!.... I usually try to get an afternoon (at least) at various spas whenever I'm in Poland. Have had all kinds of brilliant mud-baths and facials as well as anti-cellulite massages (which are fab until I go and drink my own body-weight in Polish beer and stuff myself silly with roast duck LOL!!)

I'm looking at going to Karlovy Vary in Feb - wonderful spa town in CZ not sure Im gonna go for the "pearl bath" again, high stepping and slinging my leg over the bath whilst naked wasn't the most dignified moment in my life ;-) Yeah and there's someone there whilst you're doing it!

Again, Superdrug is a large well stocked store - trust me if you had to purchased all the things you need to "survive" you would realise how expensive it is and how difficult it is to get it all under one roof.

I love Superdrug... it always amazes me how I just pop in to pick up some hair elastics and I end up coming out with things like foot-files and glittery nail polish LOL!

Awww... all part of the fun. You should have seen me dressed up like a 70s tennis star when I had a kriotherapy session a few weeks ago :D

Drogeria Natura? (My favourite)
Rossman?
Blue Drogerie? (Much less favourite, still works though)
Etc.
Plus, any larger shopping mall in PL will be stocked to the roof, I can never tear myself away and make a final, FINAL decision about what I really want ;-)

Cosmetics in poland are expensive indeed. I'm amazed how someone making 1200zl goes out and pays 150-200zl for a face cream. Even basic creams like Loreal are 2-3 times more than in the US, and their prized and adored Vichy is cheaper online at vichy.com to the rest of the world than to them.

I haven't had any spa treatments, but when I did have a manicure & pedicure, it wasn't up to par with salons in the US. It was much quicker, not as detailed, and cost 3 times what I pay here.

Magda Im sure if you are a local it's easy but it was my first time in Poland - in the UK I can walk in to Boots pick up all my make-up, moisturiser and goodness knows what else under one roof - I didn't find anywhere like that in Krakow - that's not to say there isnt :) Im actually still bitter about having to pay 3 x what I pay in the UK for a Clinique concealer!!!!

There seem to be quite a few Sephora's around Poland. And Douglas too.

While Sephora does exist in the UK, I don't think that I've ever seen one in London .
