It's a universal symbol for Christianity. It has no specific denominational association.

It was born out of america, where a moronic 50% of the population dont believe in evalution. You can see where the darwin atheist link come from. I am personally an atheist, But I agree that evalution does not disprove god and has never attempted to. I am pretty sure there is an idiot creationist kicking about these forums but I can remember his name.

Polonius3: But was it around before the collapse of communism? Of course, there weren't that many cars on the road back then. That is a good question. C9ommunism collapsed 19 years ago. It is too long to remember, besides I wasn`t interested in such things then. But yes, I remember seeing such a sign as a student. My friends explained it to me. It was in 1980s. But probably it wasn`t so widespread as today. So we can say it is growing after all. :):):)
