Anyone have any ideas what is a good gift to wish someone good luck? I am giving a gift to a guy i know from poland that now lives here in the US. I don't want to give anything big just some little gesture gift. I was thinking visor clip for your car for protection or a horseshore? Its a "just because" gift...let him know i think of him and all his traveling.
Any symbolic item people in poland use as gifts for good luck/or protection? Any advice would be great
Thanks :)

Not so lucky for the rabbit though.

My wife agrees with G. A friend gave her an elephant when she "lef"t for Cananda.

If you are giving a gift for protection and he is on the road alot driving then why nbot a St Christopher medal or pin he can attach to his visor. Perfect. There are lots of things similar if you go to a Catholic Bookstore/Gift shop and they can help you. If you are thinking of a horse show skip it. No one wants to carry that big heavy thing around...that wouold only be good for hanging inside your house and it is hug up no down.

Sweetpea1779,
are you sure this guy is superstitious?

Because if not, he might think that you consider him an uncivilized member of some strange tribal community who still believe in good luck charms.

You really don't have to be to recieve something for good luck. Well i don't think at least. Any gift type of gift is always thoughtful...am I wrong?

I would think he would think its nice that i thought of him and his traveling he does.

A gift for protection...
An axe?
A baseball bat?
Pepper spray?
A guard dog?

I don't know. If I got something for 'good luck' as a joke, kind of funny present, I'd be OK. But if someone gave me something for 'good luck/protection' in earnest I'd either consider the giver superstitious or feel offended. We've got 21st century, anyway...
