lina 1 | 1 9 Sep 2008 / #1HiI would like to know what Dzialdowo train station is like. I am travelling from Warsaw to Olzstyn in October. My flight arrives just before 5pm to Warsaw airport. On PKP site, I found two trains to Olzstyn - at 7:10pm and at 11:25pm. If I can't make it to 7:10 train, I will have to catch 11:25pm train. According to the schedule, I will have to spend 3 hours in the middle of the night (from 2am to 5am) in the train station in Dzialdowo. Is the station safe?Thank youlina
Kowalski 7 | 621 10 Sep 2008 / #2I'd sugest not to take that 11.25 train as you may find yourself the only waiting passanger at that train station along with one or two local homeless.Consider taking a cab from the airport, 2 hours is planty of time to reach Warszawa Centralna station... or ...if late take a bus from Warsaw to Olsztyn at 19.45 (plus one leaving at 22.00 on Sundays)
kioko - | 84 10 Sep 2008 / #3The train is at 19.38, not 19.10, so I guess half hour more is enough.Taxi should not be very expensive.I used to stay at night at few small stations, it's ok, though not the most comfortable situation.
OP lina 1 | 1 12 Sep 2008 / #4Thank you so much for the replies. I have checked again and the train is still at 19:10 on October 9. The bus idea never occured to me, but it is great and will give me a little extra time. I will be flying from Vancouver via Amsterdam with a very short layover in Amsterdam, so I am not sure how long the customs and luggage will take in Warsaw. Also, I thought Dzialdowo is a busy hub and there are always people around. When I clicked on the station name on PKP site, it told me that trains come and go pretty much all night with 10-20 minute intervals. But I never thought about homeless people. Thank you for the tip.Lina
