There is a very good mediterranean restaurant in the city center of Krakow called Sphynx. If you're going to be there during the summer, they have a very nice patio overlooking the town square. It's very casual and inexpensive.

beer is about 5 / 8 zl wich is just under a pound or just over depending where you go.

food you can have a nice steak in a restaurant for about 35 zl which is about 6 pounds or in Krakow they have lots of little places you can get pizza from...which are really cheap....there are lots of places to eat same as in Wraclaw, food is of a good standard and fresh...

sphynx is a good place. there were like 10 of us and we all ate for under 20 dollars and the food was excellent. or maybe i was more interested in the beer. but i do remember the food being good. but honestly i would rather eat a pretzel and drink a beer for dinner.

Blimey, that was cheap, since it was usually about 100 zl when 4 of us eat out with a couple of drinks when I was there the other week (not in sphinx) and that was lunch not dinner....

If you are looking for some polish kitchen in Wroclaw, I can recommend you Ragtime Cafe, it is on the flower market. They have really polish food, which is not very expensive. Try to find it in google or look here ragtimecafe.pl
