Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a place or hotel for a weekend get-a-way. Something quiet and no more than 5 hours from Gdansk by car.

Thanks

I absolutely love this place.
It's right by the Śniardwy lake, and it's very quiet.
But it is not luxury, it is for someone who likes sitting by the fireplace with no tv.
It definitely has a vibe. (not sure if it's a right word) :P

Also people from Gdańsk go for weekends to Bory Tucholskie.
I hope you will find something interesting.

Maybe Germany! Did anyone read that terrible write up in the Sunday Times about touring Mazury!!!! The reviewer wrote they had never been treated so badly by staff in cafes/bars anywhere else! Nice that small town Polska still makes foreigners feel welcome!

My mom was in Vienna for a few days and one evening she had coffee & cake in a cafe, than she wanted to use the cafe's toilet but staff member told her that it's only for customers and she's not allowed to use it. She said that she had already finished her cofee but it didnt make him to let her go to thw toilet. Great Vienna, shltty customer service.

I don't agree. People from small towns, especially from regions where people live from tourism, care about tourist, even more for foreigners, as they are much more polite than for example people from Wawa. I usued to work in tourist information in Mazurian district and we always treated our customers the same, that means the best we could. There always will be an exception, but does it mean that people in Mazury are all mean? I was treaten badly in Germany and Austria just because I'm Polish, but I don't blame all Germans and Austrians. Uhhh, I've got angry!
