Restaurants in small Polish villages

I seen this comment posted by someone from Poland that raises a question; "Although restaurants are not very popular with the locals, Poland does have a large selection of restaurants which serve mostly tourists," We want to find restaurants in small villages to better experience Poland and save money and get off the beaten path where tourists go. Are restaurants available in small villages? Small would be populations up to 5,000 people.

Yes although watch out for places catering mostly to beer drinkers as they'd have often not much to choose from in terms of food. It really depends on region but rather look for best places to eat, it won't be expensive anyway. Many hotels would have restaurants. Many places are busy only Sundays afternoon.

Hi....I am an Englishman living in Poland , and working here.....I think you will find that in most small villages there will be only a small shop , and a bar...not likely you will find a resteraunt unless the village is on a major tourist route , or close to a big town.....Why not try www.hospitalityclub.org if you join this you can search for local people willing to host visitors for little or no cost , and you can eat with them and sample Polish life at very low cost.....I am a member myself , and have hosted friends from France and Germany....its a great idea...do have a look at the site......

As Kowalski says, there's often not a lot to choose from in the way of food in small Polish villages. If you do come across a small village that has more than just a local shop then the chances are it'll be a pizza place or something along those lines. Experience also suggests that just as you walk in, they will have a large take-away order and wont be able to serve you for at least an hour.
