Hi everyone ,

I am new to this forum but been lurking for a couple of months and have some questions.

I'll be visiting a friend and his family for a week between 26 december and 2 januari and will be celebrating new years' eve with him and his family.

Does anyone has some tips for sightseeing around bydgoszcz or outside the city.
My friend said maybe Warsaw by train and gdansk or torun.
I also looking for good polish food restaurants and cafe's in bydgoszcz.

Grtz

Hello,
Try Sowa near Stary Rynek or IQ (you have both a cafe and restaurant all together) or Stary Port (with traditional Polish cuisine). For shopping choose Focus Park, Galeria Pomorska or Drukarnia (you can dine there too). As for cities, Toruń is really nice though smaller than Bydgoszcz, when in Gdańsk, stay in Sopot and Gdynia as well, Warsaw... Warsaw is just big but still worth visiting especially if you travel that far. If you are tempted to go down south, visit Cracow and Wieliczka... :)

The planaterium in Torun is excellent and would be a good thing to do in the winter.

I paid 49 PLN for the ride to Bydgoszcz from Warsaw... and so I think that you should budget 110 PLN for a return from Bydgoszcz.. There are some good cafes in the Stary Miasto area ... so do take a look there too. BTW, it also has the local tourist office there and they will give you more info on the local sights and bites..

hope that this helps u somewhat

Thanks,

my friend said driving to warsaw was cheaper for 4 people but if the weather doesn't hold up we will take the train.

Will go to gdansk and torun for sure and maybe national park MYSLECINEK.

I'm going just to walk around Bydgoszcz and just downloaded some tourist trails from the official website of the city.

Thanks
