Tonight I returned to England after nearly three weeks in Krakow.... I didn't want to leave. I totally fell head over heels in love with the place! The architecture, foods, clubs, people in general and, specifically, the absolutely 'drop dead' gorgeous women!!!! THE WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bardzo Ładnymi Kobietami! I dated a girl called Alicja for my last week there and I WOULD MARRY HER TOMORROW! I'm a 35 yr old confirmed bachelor...yet this beuatiful, fun-loving woman has affected me more than anyone ever did before....even during mt teenage years! I LOVE POLISH WOMEN Most attractive women in the world! (And the Prolog Language School course was excellent). I'm going to try and get some sleep now but its amazing how big this bed feels now I don't share it with the girl who made my nights so perfect. I@V GOT IT BAD!

Hi PTGX, The food places were the Mlecko Bar on Grodzka, the mlecko bar near AKADEMIA PEDAGOGICZNA (2.85 zl for Pierogi Ruskie Cebula), The CYKLOP PIZZA just off the Maly Rynek and the BABCIA MELINA's chain were my regular places. I also had several meals at the more expensive places such as C.K.DEZERTERS, BODEGA VINOTEKA........ Lizard King, Piekny Pies, Carpe Diem 2 and 'Nic Nowego' were my 'locals' Places like RDZA or PROZAK were not my type of place (Bodybuilders and footballers wives with permatanned skin...too cool for me). Alicja and I will probably not attempt to continue things....... I'll discuss with you by private message if youre interested? In fact I would welcome the chance to discuss the whole situation and maybe take some advice from 'prawdą Polkę'? PM me.

Every country can seem great for a short trip especially if you meet some girl/guy who rings your bell. Both that country and that girl/guy are not going to be the same after you live there for a while. The grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side. People will never learn.

Actually yeah. You can go to some really bad places for a short time and you don't see or deal with the same things people living there do. I have been to many third world places where life is very tough on residents or immigrants but as a tourist experiencing something new they were very cool and interesting. You just have to remember nothing stays as 'cool and interesting' as during the 'honeymoon' phase...people included. The work starts later. I just cringe when I hear or read someone say how wonderful some girl they met in some foreign country for a few weeks was as we all know that does not usually end up like the fantasy.

It was a 2 week intensive course. 5 academic hours per day (1hr=45min) 10 days in total. 260Euro for the course, 130Euro for 13 nights in the home of a local family. I couldn't praise the standard of this course high enough. "...you must not have travelled much?" Thailand, India, Spain, Holland, The Phillipines, Australia, Morocco, Malaysia It was my first time in Eastern Europe. I found the locals to be far from gloomy. They were friendly, helpful, fun-loving and interesting. Not to mention the unbelievable elegance and beauty of the women. I'm well aware that holiday romances seldom stand the test of time BUT she wasn't on holiday. Alicja was living her normal, routine life. After five nights of hints and flirtation... Night 1: Smile, small-talk. Night 2: Above plus a few drinks and some dancing. Night 3: Above but much more. Talk, drink, dance. talk, drink, dance... Night 4: Pretend to be walking her direction when she goes home (then spend 90 minutes trying to work out where the f*** I am!) Night 5: From the first second she arrives we engage each other to the exclusion of everyone else, She later told me she thought I was just a tourist trying to get lucky but after my persistant interest she made enquiries. When she heard I had only been trying to get with her she was very flattered. The girls from two previous holiday romances are still friends of mine. The pressure of real life and distance dating ended the romance but left me (and I like to think them) with great memories and new friends. What's not to love about a situation like this?

Yeah! I see your point. The first few months in Thailand I thought the women were fantastic....then the down sides started to become very obvious. Their jelousy of any other woman, dishonest and manipulative ways of getting their own way......But lets not underestimate the power of novelty on male sexuality! We're basically dogs. Thats why men lose their wives, houses and relationships on a daily basis just because they couldn't resist that 'extra notch on the headboard' At 35yrs old I'm not going to jump into anything I can't jump straight back out of. I'll just have to be happy having a jump, here and there.

Polish girls in general (and relax ladies I know some of you are decent) will put your experience with Thai women to shame on the jealousy and manipulative front. The exception being I have never heard of a Polish girl chopping off a guy's willy when she gets mad and Asian girls tend to flip out like that regularly enough to make the news. And don't be to hard on us as guys...women cheat and mess up relationships just as much as men. It takes work...and respect...and NOT being psycho. Unfortunately you don;t find out the psycho part until it is too late.

Hey man I am happy you are enjoying it. Just saying people you talk to on MSN or the phone once in a while are not "friends" and girls what treat you like you always wanted to be treated stop doing it when you LIVE together. Most people are much less reliable or loyal than you think. Its really easy to put on a good face for short interactions. Don't set yourself up for disappointment is all. I am a firm believer there is a 'one year' threshold. Live with someone or in some place for a year and you will see what is real and what was honeymoon phase. Then decide how wonderful Polish women or Warsaw or whatever is. Your view will usually be much different. Nothing comes without a cost. Polish women are on average better looking than many places sure...but there are trade offs...just as I am sure there are with us guys to them. They are not perfect, goddesses or faultless...just different than what you are used to. Should you be lucky and live the dream (and yeah it does happen rarely) I will be happy for you ;)

AP - Poland did the same thing for me in 2003. I couldn't believe how refreshing the society was, especially when compared to the general neurosis common to my home country (USA). A couple of years later, I had my first experience dating a Polish woman - she absolutely knocked me off my feet! Our relationship lasted only a few months, but after experiencing life with Karolina, I eventually found I could no longer be happy dating American women. Yes, the inherent beauty of Poles was a factor; however, I found the occasionally-brutal honesty to be their best quality by far. Also, they seemed to view sex as natural and beautiful, not a bloody quest for the holy grail (as it seems in MY country!!!). As many others have stated in this thread, dating a Polish woman is not without its complications. But with Karolina, I found MY reactions to relationship issues to be the biggest obstacles. Since then, I have grown more and more comfortable with the differences each time I have dated a Pole. Finally, I met the right woman here in Krakow - we have been together for almost 9 months now and are very happy together. I am so much more relaxed today than I was in 2005 - however, my American "indoctrination" does rear its ugly head from time to time. Fortunately, my partner understands this and is quite patient with me. You seem to be bitten by the same bug I was in 2003! Forget the negative comments - sure, there likely will be tough times ahead if you pursue this dream, but not all Polish women are cold-hearted and vindictive as inferred in this thread. I found one who is warm, patient, NOT interested in my money, and NOT the least bit jealous. I am living my dream here - I am sure you can as well.

Of course now westernization will bring them gradually to the level western european women stand now transforming them. For example I am sure that polish girls in US have different mentality than polish girls in Poland and I think it is closer to general US girls mentality than to polish mentality in Poland. So now Westerners rip the benefits of communism,one of which was the quality women.When westernization takes over,there will be nothing to rip.

Well, despite all the frustrated western souls you encounter on this forum who believe eastern women are the best thing after sliced bread, most western men are happy with their local women and wouldn't consider any eastern alternative. This is a fact, eastern western relationship are extremely tiny in number and hence no one is "reaping" communist benefit as u claim. The truth, which u pretend to ignore, is that western men, on average, are richer than eastern men and women are always attracted to more successful men no matter what. So if anything, some western men are reaping the benefits of poverty brought about by communism. Second, banning market values, and private property, is actually what brought communism down on its knees and ultimately its demise. In the absence of market prices that signal consumer demand (or lack thereof), central planners are blind as to how best allocate scarce resources to serve the population. Typically you end up with nuclear ballistic missiles and highly educated population by no meat in the shops and having to wait a lifetime to get a rickety car. Also, the absence of people's right to own private property basically turns them into nihilist cynics. Thats what communist era men were like. Last but not least, a police state basically turns everybody into a spy on everybody else. In my view, nothing to reap out of this grim picture, be it women or anything else. Third, the problems in the typical western family as a whole are not due to the free market. Au contraire, the free market has actually contributed to the increase in wealth and well being in the west. Western social problems are inflicted by the state ripping families and communities apart due to coercive and intrusive legislation, and outright theft. This is a massive subject and a forum like this one is no place to debate it. A few of the culprits are the following: rampant inflation that eroded purchase power and decimated savings, and hence preventing most men from being able to raise a family on their own these days; social security pitting the old against the young and preventing people from investing in raising children as a means of providing for older age; various family and employment coercive laws that literally ripped families apart.
