This is a rather tricky question and I bet the answers will vary from user to user.

For those of you who have not visited Wroclaw yet - I invite you to my website about this lovely city (see my profile, or just type in google "wroclaw city breaks". I hope it will help you decide.

Yeah Wroclaw is nice ;)
Krakow is, too :)

I personally prefer Pasichy. More cosmopolitan, better night life.

Depends what interests you. Been to Wroc³aw lots of times, love the architecture but grew up mainly in Kraków, feel more at home there, so I prefer Kraków also. Just like polishgirltx :)

Wroclaw used to be considered the city that was most "enthusiastic" in the 1980's fight against communism. The enthusiasm was known well enough to have found its way into even JP II's speeches during his visits to Poland.

I left a lot of good memories there.

Wroc³aw is the one town in Poland that I have never been to but I do know that there are lots of universities there so there should be a nice buzz and night life with lots of young people. Last year, I was watching in the coming of the New Year, and that came live from Wroc³aw on Polonia TV and the Main Square looked very appealing indeed.

Both Wroc³aw and Kraków are beautiful, and crowded. Poland is dotted with many smaller historical towns which contain wonderful old architecture, such as: Reszel, Byczyna, Biecz, Leæajsk...just to name a few. There are many more. I prefer a village in the mountains with a spacious backyard and forest! :-)

Wroclaw is a nice city with a great atmosphere. Okay, Krakow is very beautiful and nice but for me Wroclaw certainly comes in 2nd place.
Lots of nice bars and restaurant, plenty of things to see and do, nice people too!

I don't know why people are so fascinated. Just a city. Nothing really special... More important is your company than a place for having good time.

Hmm....best city in Poland? hmm...Wroc³aw? difficult to say, because we have another nice places and I think not only Wroc³aw is special....

if you want visit Wroc³aw for all attraction you need something about one week(if you want walking all days without rest xP)

z_darius:
last year xmas tree was most beautiful xP' but in the night this looks lovely ^_^

Wyspiańska:
You must remember one thing...Wroc³aw is always changing, all the time ...and to say that this city is nothing speciall you need to know this place in present time. (and the best way is to have somebody from Wroc³aw to show you not soo popular places(I don't think so that guide show you this xP))

I've been to Wroc³aw a couple of times and I would describe it as Poland's Prague. People tend to jump on the Krakow bandwagon, yeah, Krakow is beautiful around the rynek but Wroc³aw's general architecture is a cut above in my opinion. Something to marvel at

This is my third visit to Poland and everytime my stay has been limited to Warshaw.
I was just wondering if it stands any place in the list of good/attractive cities in poland :).

Nice in the summer but horrible in winter-very very damp and cold. The Old Town is nice but the outskirts are dreadful. I was there a few years ago and we got to get off the bus at the right stop and had to walk back. My God, what a horrible town, dirty streets and dilapidated buildings. It would cost billions of overseas dollars to put it right. orunia, I think its called-if anybody ever invites you there just remember Michal's words-straszne miejsce!

How polluted r ur lungs now? Upper Silesia, being industrial, isn't exactly what u'd call pretty. Gliwice would appear to be the nicest of the lot. There are some attractive neighbourhoods here.

So u r gonna jump on the bandwagon and say Kraków? An overrated city in terms of aesthetic appeal. I think Prague is nicer than Wroc³aw. Never been to Birmingham but have heard about it, not so positive things.
