For how long are you supposed to study in Poland? I'm not sure if I'm right, but maybe you could start to study in Lublin and transfer to Warsaw after one semester or the academic year (I think it could be possible if you had good grades).

BTW, I'm from Lublin and I would encourage you to study here...:)

Good luck!

Why... ?

because of my low mark in fact if i had 69 points instead of 66 this problem wouldn't happen at all!

it's not for sure but i guess till i'm graduated!

You mean they don't recognize the diploma from Lublin ? I don't think the program or quality is much different than in Warsaw...

Hard to say... Unfortunately I doubt anybody here may help you with details but generally you should try and contact people responsible for recruitment at the Warsaw Medical Univ. and explain them how important that is and that there's only 3 points... maybe they can find one more place or someone from those already accepted there may change his/her mind...

Grzegorz_ is right, you could go to an office called dziekanat, that's where they deal with students' problems.

If they won't be able to help you, try to talk to the dean (dziekan) or the president of the university (rektor). In many universities there is also a person called rektor do spraw studentów, who also deals with problems that concern students.

Yes, indeed.

But there are also private dormitories which are more like flats with about 3 rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom (such a dormitory is called Burżuj). They are more expensive but also more comfortable. However, I think may be a bit late to rent a room in a dormitory...

They probably assumed you'd acted as any Polish student in the same situation would (accepted the place in Lublin while trying to get into Warsaw).

And 'no' is almost always the first answer in Poland. It doesn't mean 'no' it means 'convince me'. Always keep talking (asking, pleading, persuading) until they physically run away or have you thrown out. Endurance and persistence counts for a lot here.

It seems the admninistrations of most universities are complete shambles. In my department a student is expected to attend 2 different classes and one lecture at the same time and nobody cares. I would like to switch the groups but there is no such possibility! I'm struggling to set my timetable and it's the first time I have begged my teachers to be allowed to attend their classes (which are of course obligatory!).

The recruitment process seems to be a kind of preparation for studing in this mess.

Moonsa, I'm curious how your struggle will finish.

well u know after they told me that there is no place for me(!!!) i didnt have any other choice but to get ready to go to Lublin cause there was no time left! here i attended classes, met ppl, teachers, students and it was completely different from what i thought and of course from Warsaw! in Warsaw it was like everyone wants to eat u with his eyes or it looked so shameful to help other ppl but here they accept u the way u r not the way they want u to be! so when i saw the situation here in Lublin i was kinda thanking god for not letting it to be in Warsaw! i'm so happy here with my new friends, my lovely professors and of course with ppl! im not even gonna try again to be transferred to Warsaw any more!
