i am a British citizen and my boyfriend is Polish. i want to live and work in Poland for 6 months, basically just to learn the language more.

i will be staying with his parents and he will be studying here in England. im really looking forward to it but the only problem is that i dont know that much Polish, and im wondering what sort of job i would end up having in result of this.

i know i can get a job because i know loads of Polish people here that dont speak any English and still get jobs, i dont know how they do it, but they do.

i did find a language cd called ROSETTA STONE and its supposed to be really good and people learn very quickly so i was wondering if theres anyone thats used this and been successful.

I dont understand why you want to stay in Poland with his parents if he is here in the UK and you dont speak Polish? Its sounds strange to me.

However, in your defence, I think there are some pretty hostile responses here. if posters have posted other threads which have nothing to do with this one, why should people feel it neccessary to find the time to look through these and comment on them if they are irrelevant to the discussion.. regardless of what you might think about the individual, why bother doing this.. its so sad.

You dont need a degree but it opens up your options if you have one.

You dont need a tefl cert but it opens up your options if youve got one

Callan might be your best bet - see if there is a school near where you'll be staying

my bf is of course polish. he told me his dad used to beat his mom, but hasnt for ten years now. now the other night, we had weed together and i started laughing and acting silly, but my bf didnt like it and started to punch me.

Blingin:

hey guys remember me. yes, the one who didnt listen to your advice. well now im paying for it. i made up a fake profile online and i sent him messages, and i asked him if he was single. he replied "yes im single". then he sent her a comment saying "beautiful eyes" twice. i sent him back a message asking why this girl (me) has sent you messages saying she loves you. he said "yes im sure im single, shes just a friend". i sent him back saying do you want to meet, he said "jan 3rd between 8am -5pm.

i was of course crying, how could he do this to me. he lied saying he was in the shower when in fact he was speaking to the girl i made up.

he doesnt know i know. hes away at the moment and will be back sunday, tell me, what should i do. how do i handle this? i want payback, i want revenge, but yet i want to know why, im not ugly, i love him, ive never cheated on him, i wanted to marry and breed with him one day. so why did he turn out to cheat on me?

only i can know that, not you little boy.

ive read your posts, and you dont seem to like the fact that Poles are here in England, you think they should find work elsewhere in other countries.

this is POLISH FORUMS, if you dont like Polish people, then dont register here.

because people don't change. Ms Blingy is a drama queen (she admitted it herself) and besides growing some backbone (anger)I cannot see that she would be different than she was in the past.

the past is in the past, the present is now, i live in the present and im happy, you live in the past and the dark ages and to be honest, a little too sad and desperate for thread replies, if you are so intelligent, why are you on my thread? oh yeah, i will have a good time in poland :)

i have grown some backbone and have grown mature, as you can see, i havent posted a thread in ages, why, because i sorted myself out, but people like you like to TRY and put people down because unfortunatley, you have no faith and you, still have a backward mind, which is no problem for me as i am not you.

so why did you admit that you were a drama queen - it is NOT a good thing to be one;)

i wonder how lol :)

without internet help for sure. I talk to my friends and family members and I use my brain. If you tell me that is it unusual I assure you that most people would disagree.

I am not a big fan of people posting their personal problems on the internet as you can see, especially those who don't listen to advices and waste everybody's time doing it with a nasty attitude.

Or simple crooks.

Dear me!
What a blatant attempt to provoke the racism of inequality in replies.

"If he can wear a turban on a motorbike why do I have to wear a helmet...... coming over here shaggin' our food and eating our women.........I couldn't get a job in Poland.....something about me being retarded but they get jobs in England........ real men beat their women with clubs.............."

Who do you think you are kidding?

One of the things about work is that you may be doing it on your own or in an enviroment where very little is said. Work therefore might not be the best option for learning a language.

The time of year is important. You won't be doing outside work in winter.
And in Summer there are plenty students to fill in the gaps.

You didn't mention where you'll be living. A village would make travel more difficult than you might expect, if you have to rely on public transport to get to work.

Teaching English might be an option, but only if you understand deference. But there again it won't help you with learning Polish.

I don't know anything about the history of Blingin but I do have one thing to say: reading this thread, her standard of written English is very poor (spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalisation) and she would, therefore, be most unsuitable as an English teacher.

Also, is she even English? English people don't say Mom, but Mum.
