Merchant account in Poland

Hi, I'd like to know if merchant account is known in Poland. I want to set up a commercial website and i want my customers from Western Europe buy with their credit cards (not using Paypal) Visa or Mastercard Ther's a company ecard.pl which can set up electronic payment solutions. "A merchant account is a contract under which an acquiring bank extends a line of credit to a merchant, who wishes to accept payment card transactions of a particular card association brand. Without such a contract, one cannot directly accept payments by any of the major credit card brands." My contact at my bank seems not to know this e-business solution. Is it known in Poland? What are the rules of e-business? Must i have a contract wwith my bank, an agreement or something else to implement this solution or not? Thank you for your help. Regards
