Anyone wanna buy 3000 Pounds (English of course) for the going exchange rate, no commission either way? I'm in Sląsk. PM me if you're interested in buying some or all of it. I hate paying the Kantor commission and I'm sure you do too.

Foreigner4: I hate paying the Kantor commission and I'm sure you do too. Several kantors do not charge a high commission. Besides, a change in the rate of a currency may either easily defy the effect of the commission or strenghten it furthermore. Thus, it is the change in the value of the sterling or any other currency that matters more than the commission.

i guess you may have a point but i don't see how it's related to my post. the commission isn't there to benefit the seller, is it? It's there for them to make money off of your money so I fail to see how avoiding the commission does anything but save everyone an expense.

Foreigner4: Going, going, Gone! Kantor commission is peanuts. Your best bet would be to watch the exchnage rate and then change on your time scale. It fluctuates so much Kantor commission is pretty much irrelevant if your timing is correct.

A decent kantor is going to be charging 1% difference between buy and sell rates on the pound and for over ten thousand zloty you can probably get an extra grosze as well, so the difference between buy and sell is going to be three grosze. Half of that is one and a half grosze. Which means that on your £3,000 the advantage of not using a kantor is 45zl. Of course the disadvantage is that you have to meet the person you're dealing with, which means you need to tell a complete stranger exactly where and when you'll be with 15,000zl in your pocket: no thanks.

Harry: which means you need to tell a complete stranger exactly where and when you'll be with 15,000zl in your pocket: no thanks. and if the exchnage rate fluctuates 0.2% in your favour from the day the deal is done to meeting time (a day later) YOU'LL be losing if the exchnage rate goes against you the deal wont show, whats the point?. Current exchange rates are exactly that - current. The issue here is not about Kantor commission but the exchange rate. You cant beat the kantor im afriad they are extremely competetive, why the hell do you think theres so many of them. They'll do a deal on 3K which makes then 100 PLN there and then. You cant beat that....

I guess one could argue not doing that is how you do so but it doesn't worry me in the slightest. I'm not sure if I get your point but the money was exchanged with that day's rate on the spot, i'm not planning to buy back pounds so it's no big deal. Shouldn't you think of setting up your own kantor and start to change money for free without charging your customers any commission, thus living within the values you have rather than with what a 2% difference can make?
