No kidding. I love Polish literature and I think it's genius. Me being half Greek and telling people of my itnerest in ltierature always raves up discussions of Homer, Sophocles, Aristotle, etc. Sure they are genius'; but what about Polish literature???
Many Poles don't even regard it. however Polish literature is epic, and especially the poetics. Yes Szymborska is one of my favorite poets of all time (next to Baudelaire and Rimbaid whom are Frances top). Essentially i recently bought this anthology which has all of Polands best literature:
