Right, so I payed a bill in cash which meant I took 2000pln from a Bankomat (i am with WBK). Is there any way I can have my card re-activated now? The english office is closed and my polish is near enough non-existant. If anyone can help me (by writing what options to take and what say) that would be brilliant. I have only the number on the back of my card. If it is possible to do this over the internet banking that would be even handier....HELP!

HELP!

it depends on your bank, Cardno. THey will have blocked your card to protect your account. If the number on the back is for like 24 hour phone banking (like the Cooperative Bank for example) just phone them and they will unblock your card. This happened to me last time I was in Poland (but not other European countries!) ..apparently the thing to do is ideally phone your bank before u leave and tell them where you are going. Good luck, don't worry.....:)

It is a Polish bank, WBK, however their 24 hour banking is only in Polish after 8pm. I know I can phone them now and get it fixed, but i need to speak polish to do that. Is my best option to go to my friend and get her to phone them for me?

is it likely to be the same as back home that one phone call will fix it?

Cos it's a risk, to see my friend I need to buy a tram ticket...if it doesn't work then it is wasting small amounts of beer money.

I will wait until 10, then head off and see them.

<edit: bugger it, I will just use my last 14pln and get some beer at the garage>
