It's outrageous here in Warsaw, lots of dumbf*ck idiots have pitbulls, rottweilers and other monstrosities. Someone mentioned earlier this daft Polish habit of emulating anything American, hence the crap rap rip offs and baseball hatted twats with dangerous dogs roaming the streets. All American pastiche here is based on what young people see on MTV, unfortunately young Poles just 'steal' their culture from other countries so all music, art etc is just an embarassing copy. I got accosted by a drunk guy with a pitbull who took the dogs' muzzle off and tried to get the thing to attack me! luckily the dog just started jumping up at its owner and I managed to run away. On another occasion we saw a group of guys trying to coax their pitbull into attacking a petrified mongrel dog tied up outside a supermarket. I didn't want to get involved (chicken) but my girlfriend jumped in and went nuts at these guys!

Breeds of dogs come and go. Pitbulls and rotts are in. It's just a fad all over the world. Next will be the Dandie Dinmont Terrier and the King Charles Spaniel.

I've been here a day, and have seen 3 Burnese Mountain Dogs. I'd be lucky to see 3 in a year in Australia!

Here's a few dog hotels in Wroclaw. Some charge $40 z³. a day, which would be around $15.00

Hi-

I'm living in £ód¼ for a few months with my husband and want to buy a dog here that I will bring to the U.S. with us when we return- I looked at Beagles yesterday but they can never be off a leash and I'd like a dog that I can trust not to run off since I enjoy camping and want it to have some freedom at a dog park. Do you have any suggestions of a short haired active breed that can be trusted with proper training not to run off and is tolerable of apartment living with enough exercise? Also do you know of a do shelter or breeders in £ód¼? Yesterday we checked out a local "dog market," pretty interesting place.

Thank you,
Rose
