Buying Cigarettes in Poland, Gdansk.

Hi I am from Edinburgh, Scotland. I'm coming to Gdansk for a short break and would like to buy a few Cigs to take home. Can anyone tell me if they sell Regal, Lamberts or Benson & Hedges anywhere in Gdansk. Actually I can get cheap flights with Ryanair to a few Polish cites, so prices and places to buy anywhere in Poland would be helpful.
Thanks

The question is probably how many cigs you can import into UK?

Maybe in the airport but i do not remember seeing them, you can get Malboro for about 10zl outside the airport, i took 1600 once and had no problems... although i wouldn't wanna get checked!

Not anymore. Poland is a full fiscal member of the EU nowadays and thus the guideline (not a limit, that would be illegal :/) for Poland-UK trips is 3200.

But bear in mind that the EU only mandates an allowance of 800 - so taking 3200 across the German border might not be seen as allowed.

Buckshee cigs are selling £30 for 200 Regal.

At 10zl a pack you should make £160 a trip based on 3200.

Not anymore.

When did that come in? As I was under the impression that tabaco was ristricterd
from certain member states which did include Poland along with Bulgaria, Estonia Lithuania and Romania.

I buy Marlboro' gold/lights for about 96zl for 200 in Krakow. I think sometime around the start of this year Poland was removed from the list of countries from where you can only bring in 200 cigs. The countries to which this still applies are Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Romania according to the HM Revenue & Customs website. Just type in something like 'cigarette allowance from Poland' and it should come up with 'Travelling to the UK from the European Union (EU)' where it will tell you what you can bring in.

Typical, uk government always made a big deal about only bringing in 200 cigs from Poland but kept it very quiet when they changed the rules to allow us to bring in more. I only noticed it by chance one day at the airport when I saw that the very small print at the bottom of a poster no longer included Poland on the list.

I take it then that UK brands such as Regal and Lambert aren't sold in Poland? You would think there would be a market for some enterprising person to stock them for tourists.

You can get L&B in Krakow in the Kiosks round the main square. I haven't seen B&H or Regal though.

I don't know how much of a market there would be for them. Even if you forget about tax and all that, buying (even in bulk) in the UK would put these cigarettes so overly expensive that no-one would buy them. I mean would you rather buy Marlboro at 9.95zł or Regal for 20-25zł?

It's a no-brainer.

Wouldn't work really - Poland doesn't really have that much in the way of British tourists. German tourists however...

B&H were available in Poland a few years back but I haven't seen them here since then. Poland is a bit of an odd market for fags really. Camel have recently been relaunched on the market here after being withdrawn about seven years ago.

Your best bet is still in Dw Centralny. But not the main part. The tunnel that crosses Emilii Plater, just by the North-Eastern most entrance to the complex. They're very cheap and have a prodigious range.

That certainly is the only place I've ever seen them. Although for obvious reasons I've never actually bought any!
