I love a good ceilidh...now I am wondering, is there a substantial amount of Scottish expats in Krakow that would have a regular one up and running...or enough for me to try and arrange a few?

Well from my experience of Poland, its the best country in the world to drink vodka in :) Possibly the best vodka also . . . anyway, sorry for deflecting from the OP thread

It's great fun, i guess it may look funny if you are not brought up with it. Brilliant after a few drinks. And it means plenty of Kilts in Krakow!

There's a noted Scottish piper in Krakow, Lindsay Davidson, perhaps he has a hand in ceilidhs.

Is that the guy that sometimes plays in the Main Square? If I see him while I am there I will ask him.

Not sure, he's pretty big league. Plays concerts with philharmonics and the like.

I think it's a good idea Dave. We can put our heads together once I am settled and arrange ourselves one. I have a friend who plays in a Ceilidh band so I might see if I can convince him and the boys to come on holiday...

There's a friend of mine does the odd ceilidh in the Olsztyn area. I teach the odd bit of ceilidh dancing. I'd love to know if you ever have a biggy down there (as the actress said to the bishop).

How far from Krakow is Olsztyn? If I have one then I will certainly let you know, even if it's not that big.
