Getting married in Poland - Marriage of no impediment

Guest   Jan 3, 09, 15:53 /  #
Hey everyone,

Just wondered if anyone had any info or experience on getting married in Poland, and the possible business of acquiring a marriage of no impediment?

I know a marriage of no impediment is the normal document to take to Poland when one of the people involved is a British citizen etc, but as I have duel nationtionality, I will be getting married as a Polish citizen using my Polish passport in the registry office.

Does anyone know if there is a similar docment to the marraige of no impediment that I would need prior to the wedding?

Thanks

As far as I know there is not. As you are Polish here, you will be treated exactly the same as your wife(-to-be). Any paperwork she needs, you will need.

Certificate of no impediment

Hi everyone! I'm new to the site. I joined here because my fiance who is a not familiar of how to get a certificate of no impediment marriage. He submitted his divorce decree absolute to his local registrar and they gave him something like a certificate but he's not sure if thats the one we need for our marriage. He's settled in UK and we are getting married soon. Could you give me tell me if that's the certificate we be needing, it stated there that hes already divorced and previous marriage is dissolved? Please enlightened me with this?
Thanks

The CNI must be obtained in person from your national consulate in Warsaw. It costs just over 600PLN (668?) and is valid for only 3 months so you have to time it well.

It's all in the name. I guess it would say that his former marriage is dissolved to be classed as no impediment. You have to get it anyway whether divorced or not.

Any more specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Nice little earner, don't you think?

(I've ceased to have any respect whatsoever for the FCO - embassies shouldn't have to be revenue-neutral, it's not what they're there for!)

It's a neat little earner for sure. I was lucky enough to get driven there by my wife's bro. They lowered the price but not by that much. It's a ballache getting into Warsaw so we set off early morning.

The certificate that my fiance have came from his local registry in Czestochowa. He was told that this would be presented next to the embassy. Is it valid since we will be just exchanging that in Poland consulate in my country? Please help me with this?
