Hey Everyone Im an American now living in Gdansk. Ive been here for about a month and a half, living with my mom. I curently am taking language classes in Sopot, but I still have a long way to go to learn Polish. I was wondering if there are any good places to meet people in the Gdansk-Sopot Area, and preferably places where I could find people who know English since I'm a novice in Polish. I, myself am 24 years old, so please no kiddy places.. lol. Thanks for the help!

Where do you live in Gdansk? Come to the city center and find Absinthe. It's between the LOT building and the great armory, nest to the theater. In the day, it's my office for private lessons. At night, it's my living room where I meet friends. Abs is the best place in trojmiasto. Hope to see you there. I'm the old guy with glasses and a red baseball cap when I come in the door. Just listen to conversations. You'll pick out the English speakers, but a lot of Poles speak it also. Great place.

You should use Facebook as well there are many expat groups for the trojmiasto (Gdynia, Gdansk and Sopot) looking to meet new people. Without them I dont know what I would have done in such a terrible place during my stay. I still can't believe I survived it.

Hey robert,
Drop me a PM, maybe you can join me and my group of friends sometime. We are a multinational group and all speak English to varying degrees. As a native British speaker of english, I'm somewhere around the intermediate level :)

There are many foreigners in the area and many people speak enough English to help you get by, which is a mixed blessing because it means I've been lazy on my Polish studies

Hello Robert and Everyone,

I also would like to meet some -foreign or either- english speaking Polish people. I came to Gdansk about a month ago. And not doing so much cuz I was supposed to be here as an exhange student but since i have no classes during the week (except weekends) - would like to meet some good fellas around here to have sth going on during the week.

To Robert: I dont know if you are a student or not but Im 23 years old so we can have some similarities to talk about. Im from Turkey. I travelled around much - also been to the States once in a while.

I'll be waiting for pokes from everyone..

Atilla

I will be visiting Gdansk soon, anybody can suggest where to visit in that city please? Or where to avoid possibly?

And any other general information would be appreciated.

Many thanks.
