You need to become a member of one of Koło Łowieckie, for example this one
http://jelenolsztyn.republika.pl/

In short: it's not gonna happened.

Unless you can afford as a foreigner polowanie dewizowe.

Why don't you get a decent hobby instead of trying to kill animals for fun!

You need to join the Polish Hunting Association. I believe the club that Bzibzioh linked to is one such club.

Then you need to do a 1 year probation period, 60 hours of training and sit an exam. There is info on this on the Krakow club website here: http://www.pzl.krakow.pl/

Have a look on those websites and you will at least see pictures of what game there is etc..

But unless you speak Polish I don't see realistically how you will be able to get through these procedures and become a member.

Hello mate,

You seem to have very strong views on hunting as if anybody who hunts is just doing so for fun! What about hunting for food? I also wonder what is your opinion on me hunting the rats and pigeons and rabbits that wreck my uncles crops?

:)

Hi lefty

Who hunts for food these days, hardly anyone. Pest control i have no problem with. As a sport/hobby i find it rather sad and sick that people can get enjoyment out of killing!

And of course you would simply starve to death if you couldn't go out into the woods and indulge in your sick little hobby.

Killing for fun is just wrong, however..............if you kill for food it makes you realise that you are responsible for the animals death and makes you more respectful for the beasts.

Where I live there are loads of deer, if these are not culled regularly the country becomes a mess and the animals suffer due to lack of proper nutrition and diasease.

So in some cases, hunting is necessary.

Check out her profile:

Country, city: Away with the fairies
Speak Polish?: yes
Occupation, website: part time angel
Interests: Lover of (almost) all things Austen (killing innocent animals for fun)

I added the very last bit.

I knew a guy here who hunts very regulalry - wild boar were his game. Ive seen his photos and i was like ohh yeh, ok right, inside i was thinking what an *******. He was also a business associate and once said "we dont need a contract its not about the money".

Never saw that twat again.

whoever can kill deer for fun could also kill humans, once the mental barrier is broken.
The emotional one has already been broken or has never existed.
Society conditioning is one thing, conscience is another. Some people have it, some don't.
If someone likes to watch an animal dying of his bullets and considers it a stylish hobby, don't try to change them. The effort will be futile. What needs to be changed is Polish legislation in this area.

Personally I was brought up in the country and am a fairly good shot. Although I shoot only clays. I really don't have much of a problem with people choosing to kill animals; they'll do it whether I approve or not and it's completely legal for them to do so. What I do dislike is people who claim that they hunt solely for food. Statements like that are complete and utter bollocks. You hunt because you get off on killing animals.

Answer the question Bzib, i have asked quite a few so called hunters the same and none of them can give a straight answer.

I can totally see the thrill of hunting, im sure i would love it. However i choose not too as i would not be able to sleep at night with images of wounded animals flashing in and out of my brain all in the name of sport or pleasure.

In the old days in it was coinsidered masculine to kill the worlds most ferocious creatures yes, now a days its just a sport, leisure activity. If somebody actually enjoys this, well i cant understand that.

Thrill? Hunting is 99% of work and 1% of thrill. I'm talking about real hunt.

I saw that you removed your macho avatar. Felt hypocritical much?

Wroclaw Boy:

Well, I don't understand peoples spending whole evenings in pubs or bars; I can't see the point but why would I feel like criticizing them?

Harry:

Problem with clays is that no matter how long you cook them - you can't eat them.

Harry:
You hunt because you get off on killing animals.

I don't.

Nope. I just like the meat. Killing is the least attractive part of it but since they are not going to shot themselves somebody has to do it.

Wroclaw Boy:

If you are wounding them you are very lousy hunter. The point is to kill in one clean shot.

You'd have to try it first. Either you get it or you don't. Not something you can explain to a civilian.

Bzibzioh,
Basically, all meat-eaters attacking hunters are hypocritical and I have always realised it.
It doesn't make and difference if you participate in the act of killling or simply eat the meat, except, hunting is more honest because you participate in the whole process from the beginning to the end and don't just give someone a reason to kill. This is quite a complex civilisational issue and to be honest, if everyone was to kill their dinner the world would be much simpler, because then people would be given a real choice about who they are. SOme of us would become vegetarians, others would hunt. Everybody would know what they eat, which is not the case now. We think we buy hamburgers or some other kind of processed meat but in fact yearly we eat kilograms of preservatives added to ground bones and skins and bowels.

I used to know a Welsh aristocrat who always said that she would only eat the meat of creatures that she herself could kill and I understand this. As a result she ate only fish.

That's why, just in case you didn't notice, I am not calling you names here on this forum or telling you to go and educate yourself.

I used to be a vegetarian for ten years and I am trying to quit eating meat again. Also for selfish reasons, because I know that vegetarianism will decrease colon cancer risk, amongst other risks. Very good meat without chemical additives is exceptionally expensive, too and you will never buy it via regular retail outlets. Also, we are natural herbivores. Our digestive systems and teeth point to this. It is easier fot us to digest plants than meat.

You have not convinced me. If someone kills me, and of they do it in one straight shot, I am still not going to be grateful to them. People sentenced to capital punishment don't feel grateful to the American govt for all scientific research aiming to make execution as painless and humane as possible.

Once again, why are we discussing this, anyway? I am not trying to make you stop hunting. I am simply saying that I am not interested in killing and I don't wish to watch death - I have witnessed it and drawn my own conclusions, thank you.

That is why I like deer's meat: no added preservatives, antibiotics etc. And is very tasty too.

I don't agree. Look at cows' belly; they eat just grass. We don't have those kilometers of guts to process it.

Molly Malone:

If you are dead in millisecond you'd have no time to ponder any dilemma. And one straight shot makes that you don't suffer.

Molly Malone:
I am simply saying that I am not interested in killing

And nobody is asking you to do it. Just don't patronize, ridicule and judge those who do.
