Passport stamped when leaving Shengen territory?

I am an Australian and I have applied for a temporary resident permit in Poland as I have a work promise and am enrolled in studying polish

Anyway the office for foreigners said I needed to leave the shengen territory before my 90 days and then come back and show them my stamp

But I was wondering that if I went to train to say Romania or Bulgaria if my passport would get stamped or not?

Any clues would be great as I really need to sort myself out here

Romania and Bulgaria are in the process of implementing Schengen, so they should suffice for your needs. The UK would also work (even though they are part of the EU, they are not a part of Schengen).

true and the uk would probably be the cheapest as well if you were just doing a border run

My travel costs to L'viv totaled about 100 PLN - add hotel and food and I came in just under 200 PLN for the whole trip.

Having said that, I would have gone to the UK if I had it to do over again - despite the low cost, L'viv was difficult for me to negotiate. The language barrier was huge - there was precious little English to be seen (surprisingly even at the train station).

Alright awesome, i think ill train it to Bulgaria or Romania and fly back in to krakow
Hopefully it would work

Planning on going to Ukraine however I need a visa and I dont know how long it takes for them to process them

If you are in Krakow, the Ukrainian consulate is in Kazimierz on ul. Krakowska 41.
You can get a visa in one week for 50 USD, unless things have changed since last year. I think you can pay extra to get it even faster.
As consulates go, it's not too bad. The guy that works there speaks a little English and is helpful enough.

Best way to get to Lviv is to take a train to Przemyśl. Then you get a minibus to the border and walk across. On the other side, there are buses to Lviv. Total travelling time should be about six hours and it's pretty cheap as BLS said.

Good luck aussie_expat - I am in the same boat and will be doing the trip for the same reason later this month

Hi
I am iraqi and have an iraqi passport and have a resident permit in Norway stamped in my passport. I intend to vist Poland, Hungary. Can I? or should I apply for a visa for those countries?

On the basis of the Schengen acquis, a valid residence permit from a Schengen Member State, together with a travel document, can substitute for a visa. Thus, a third-country national presenting his/her passport and a valid residence permit issued by a Schengen Member State is allowed to enter another Schengen Member State for a short stay without needing a visa. This equivalence does not apply to residence permits issued by the United Kingdom and Ireland, since they do not apply these provisions of the Schengen acquis.

Basically - yep, you can travel, but only within the Schengen zone.

I wonder how quick they would be to revoke a resident permit on the basis of crimes, alleged or real in another Schengen juristriction?

I will make 2 assumptions and would advice you on this assumptions.

Firstly..I would assume you came into poland without a visa, You are allowed to stay in poland without a visa for 90 days. However it takes 45 or more days to get a tempoary residence permit, so if you applied early for the permit at least 45 days before the end of your allowed stay, you dont need to leave poland to any other country. The permit decision should be ready b4 the 45 days expires. Now Poland has a terrible govt systems, esp when it come to foreigners permits...so if the decision is not ready after 45 days, dont worry, they would issue a visa on your passport until the decision is ready. They are REQUIRED to.

Now if you came to poland with a visa, you are luckier. This is because, at the expiration of your visa, U can begin the count of your allowed visa free 90 days.

Be sure that If you have a work promise, and you have not broken any law (though it makes no difference), U will get your permit.
