It was funny, I did an A-Z list of Polish associations and my list was much more extensive than theirs. They had all kinds of funny nonsense in there.

52% Poles is unhappy about the situation in Poland. 31% thinks positively. (Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej (CBOS) (Centre for Public Opinion Research)). Students, people with degrees, wealthy and from big cities estimate the situation in PL as good. People with the lowest income, farmers and unemployed think it's really bad. 31% of respondents think that the situation will get worst in the next year. source in Polish

Do you know any farmer in the world who is not complaining? I would think with the flood of EU money going their way Polish farmers should be more satisfied.

Sorry, Seanus, but I don`t treat it too seriously. I used to try to speak/write nice English, the one I was taught at school and university, the decent language based on high literature and Queen`s speeches. Posh! With the passage of time, I realised there is no need to be so polished up. It sounds too extravagant. I have seen incredible mistakes committed by native speakers, and nobody cared, including other natives speakers. I have seen language short-cuts which looked like mistakes but they weren`t because I asked learned guys and they said the curious usages of language were acceptable. So, can you bear in mind that from now on we are going to use an unemployed as a singular noun, similarly to the plural the unemployed???? In this way we are creating a language precedence which is going to be used widely in 10 years time, not only by people in this forum but worldwide. You have a chance to join us now! :):):):):):) Seanus: you know who you are. Please, don`t abuse us. We are not huju.

Poland has always had a very poor economy and Pol;and has always traditionally been a country from which people have run away and with good reason. Poland will never be rich and successful country due to its location, poor natural resources and climate.

WOW and TVN said the life in Poland is great and every one is reach and has lots of $$$$$$$ Poland is poor people in reality 2/10 people do okay but that's about all that have a decent life style!!

So it begs the question if there is no life here, I mean there, how does she know?. Or is it more like there was life there, when she was there but then she left and now there is none? . In which case I suppose my next question would be, where was she coming from to get to there and inhabit the place before she left for Birmingham? Your girlfriend is too clever for me.

As one German once said, Poles are either Romantics or Cynics, which pretty much makes sense as a cynic is just a disillusioned romantic. :)

Yeah, which is bad because I'm becoming a bad listener. They told me this in class (that they complain all the time) and I disagreed, being the professional thing to do. International relations n'all that. However, yeah, their complaining really gets on my wick. When I get any moans from surveys, I just laugh them off. I really don't care anymore. I don't handle negativity well. Negative energy consumes me (from others) so I push it away if anyone tries to thrust it on me. I'm not interested in sob stories and self piteous gutrot. Positive stories more than welcome :)
