luckily for me i'm always in ASTER's service range.... i love the 10mbps/1mbps they provide.. only for 83.5Zl/month and i only experienced one small slow down last summer when i was in Krakow. it kept download at 1.2MB/S(max speed) but what was nicer is that last year i subscribed to their 2months Triple-play deal... and only had to pay like 23.5Zl/Month and (well i forgot how many TV channels) for only 10zl/month!.. before i left back to Lebanon. i simply canceled the deal :P

this year im gonna try to see if i get that 30Mbps/2mbps connection from UPC.. if not... i'll stick with ASTER ^^

I recently attempted to upgrade my Neostrada internet speed to 6 meg, I was sold the deal in a neostrada TP registered shop. I cant be bothered to go into detail but heres some points: 6 meg was unavailable in my location I lost my internet connection for 7 days I spent around 12 hours calling the help line I still have my old crappy speed I had to pay a 6 meg price for one month What an absolute unnecessary hassle.

TP are a bunch of cowboys. 7 days is nothing. I was without my Internet for nearly 3 months! Everytime my wife called up we were told a different story. We wrote letters to complain and the funniest thing was that we got two different replies from two different people saying two different things. The letters were dated 3 days apart. At that point we gave up on them - it's just not possible to deal with people like that without losing your sanity. Clearly they have no clue what they are doing there. Luckily my neighbour let me use his internet during this time. I plan to never ever move house or change my internet provider in the hope that I never have to go through this all again...

TP isn't Polish company. I'd suggest you to use some local comapnies and yes TP is the worst on market.

I thought TP was the national provider? Because in the UK you can get your phone and internet from people other than British Telecom but BT still own the cables to your door. So whenever you have a problem your provider still has to chase up BT to fix it. Is it not the same in Poland with TP?

It was. In the 90's it has been sold. Now TP is slowly losting market and it seems that in close future there will be 2 companies one will be telecom and another will be responisble for cables. In big cities TP has lost some cables but still in vilages or in some other places it is not possible to have interent from other provider...

You think your TP story is bad? I stopped paying their bills because they refused to send me bills in the correct name even after we had signed a new contract in the correct name (i.e. the name of my company) and so I couldn't put the bills down as a business expense. I cancelled the neostrada because they said they needed to cut it off for two weeks if I changed the name on the contract. But they still sent me (me as a person rather than me as a company) bills for the phone including the cancelled neostrada. Repeated letters sent by registered mail went unanswered so after a few months I stopped paying the bills. Then they cut me off. I pointed out that they had a legally binding contract with me as a company and I'd sue them if they didn't reconnect me. So they reconnected me and credited the overpayment I had made for the neostrada against my future phone bills. Fast forward three months and they have just cut me off again. They did that because my bills for the last three months haven't been paid. But the bills for the last three months have been 0.00 PLN (thanks to crediting the previous overpayment of my account), so I physically could not pay the last three bills. In other news, Stoen are threatening to cut my electricity off because the bills for the past six months haven't been paid. Tiny problem is that they have all been paid and I have the bank transfer orders to prove it, along with the bank transfer confirmations proving that the money went into Stoen's bank account.

Don't pay for them :) they are not Polish companies :) I buy my electiricty form Enea and I have internet form cable TV (INEA). Much better customer service. TP

TPSA is owned ca 48% by France Telecom. It is a French Company. Only a small portion of TPSA, ca 5%, is still owned by Ministry of Treasury, and they will probably privatize this soon as well. TPSA has HQS in France, and buys equipment and supplies through France. UKE (Urząd Komunikacji Elektronicznej) has not yet decided on whether to split TPSA. TPSA is claims it must spend 20 billion zlotys to upgrade national infrastructure to support EURO 2012 games, and that if they become split, the project will fail and Poland will not be ready in time for games. This is a compelling argument.

Ok. I live in States, in Illinois and here in most houses, outside major cities the only propviders are one neighbour cable company (Comcast) or telephone company (AT&T). They have monopoly, but I never seem to have problem with their customer service and billing. And anytime I sign up for any new service few days or weeks later afer 1st day of month, they charge accordingly only to days I use. Why is then situation in Poland so different then?

I had to deal with TP when they were Polish (both pre 1990 and post 1990) and customer service was 100 times worse than today (although today is still far from ideal to be fair..) Foreign ownership of polish companies has generally improved customer service by leaps and bounds.. As a proof, just benchmark againt the 100% pure polish service you get when you deal with the administration..
