Weddings in Warsaw

Hi All,

Please don't jump on me to hard, I’ve had a look around the search engine and read some topics on weddings but most seem to be about marrying a polish person.

My questions are a little different.

My Fiancé and I are looking at getting married in Warsaw in November of this year (2009). We are both UK National's and have lived here in the UK all our lives, we are looking for a civil ceremony and a good party somewhere in Warsaw. The reason for Warsaw is we have both spent time there, as well as Krakow, and we really like the City.

I've looked allot over the internet, and there are a few hotels that offer wedding ceremonies (the Bristol, the Marriott, the Sheraton, Jan III etc) i am just wondering if there are any other really nice venues about that would be an option for a pair of UK nationals to get married in other than hotels?

If anyone has any links to information on weddings, venues, legalities etc in Warsaw they would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Ritchie

Having a party in a hotel in Warsaw will not be the "polish" effect I think you are looking for. Did you ever consider renting a castle & having your reception there? Given the prices that Warsaw hotel's charge, I think the castle may come out to the same or even cheaper. Having it in the castle/palace is a unique thing indeed, and I'm sure the guests would remember it a lot more, than a standard hotel.

We married way back in 2003 in the "Stara Pomarańczarnia" (The Greenhouse) in Łazienki Park. Fabulous place.

For a place including catering and sleeping, Nieborów Palace near Warsaw is worth checking out.
