Admin don't you realize that closing the threads like you do doesn't make foreigners think even a bit better about you guys??? Actually, it makes the situation much worse. Doing it you are showing us all that you guys are simply backwards. I'm expecting the worst of you Admin. You'll probably suspend me too, just like everyone else here whoever dares to be honest. You're punishing people for their opinions. This is really bad. This is what we know about Poland and the whole eastern block the way it was until 1989. Obviously, for some people nothing has ever changed, has it Admin??? Why is it so hard for you guys to take some criticism? We're being overloaded with that crap all the time in the states but are we forbidding others to talk bad about us??? Yes we are also getting mad about this or that but do we do what you do. OK, I'll close for write now and let you take some action (like always Admin), lol. I wonder how long will it take for you to shut down this thread or simply the Polish way, suspend me just like everybody else before me.
Long live democracy!
Have a nice day

Could you post a link to the thread you're talking about and we can take a look at it?

well to be honest i've always looked at admin and the mods as the Polit Bureau, i say this because they do not seem to make decisions that make much sense. Apart from this there is never a feeler put out to see what people think of the major adjustments/changes that may possibly be happening on the forum. Its more like the Stalin approach, 'sod it i'll do it anyway and i'll get my inforces to back me up'.

Having said that though i have been honest the whole time i've been on here and never been suspended for anything i've 'actually' said on the forums, i think i was suspended once for someting to do with one of the mods (again like the Polit Buearu, i was never informed of why, i was just dished the punishment)

I do think Admin/mods do a very good job on the whole, however there are some big oversights and an obvious unwillingess to revert back on one of its own ideas even if they are not that great.

Overall i love the mods, i really do think they do a good job, i'm still undecided about admin as i'm not sure exactly where he/she is coming from half the time.

i'm with that

Careful now

why do I have to be careful??? You mean because I'm expressing my true feelings? This will never happen to me. I'm not raised that way. We say whatever we want, whenever we want and wherever we want, simple is that.

now now bunny i think its about time somebody spoke up for what they believe in, even if it is against the head. To be honest its good to see a bit of balls, somebody standing up for what they believe in.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who refuses to bow down to the so called 'great admin' :)

P.S. that does not mean to say the whole band who look after this forum are all the same, i think Polskadoll and Wroclaw are fine examples of good mods

Yeah but we can't fix anything if we don't know what the whole first post is about? Link to the thread please.

i'm not sure its something you can fix PD, i think its more the attitude of the Admin :) that is something you are not in control of and cannot fix.

There are reasons certain threads are closed and they're usually only closed for a short while. So if there's an issue with one in particular or even 20, post the link and we'll look at them.

Thank you.

ok so it was a little excitable but behind it all there is a point, what is wrong with having a problem and voicing it, if everybody just kept their mouths shut nothing would change.

You mean, like the "let's put the user info on the right hand side of the page, despite forum-wide opposition, and despite the fact that no forums anywhere else seem to do this, but we know better and we know what's best for you" democracy we saw some time ago on here?

;)

i find that threads are being closed if people start arguing too much, it will be reopened in a while. then you can try and have a mature discussion and present your point of view in a good manner, instead of "teeling off" the Poles for being "ungrateful" to the "generous" Germans and always moaning. not everyone had a cushy sheltered life you know. if you're so pro German Amanda maybe you should join a German forum i dunno, or at least have some respect? you're only young you probably still have difficulty relating to what others might be feeling. i see you're also bezstresowo wychowana ;) so maybe that's why you can't sympathize. anyway, this is a Polish forum and many people here have strong feelings and views on the world wars. making your point the way you do has the opposite effect to the one you desire. even if people are prepared to agree with you they will be discouraged with the tone of your posts. you're not smarter and more open minded than everyone else. you sound like a bright enough kid, so put your energy into something creative and worthwhile. cheers!

i haven't actually read the thread Amanda is talking about, i didn't realise there was so much 'pro German' stuff going on, myself i was not talking about a specific thread, i was talking about the way the whole Forum is run.

As for closing down the thread, to be honest if there is a lot of 'Pro German' going on i'm not in the least bit surprised, i mean we are on a 'Polish forum' and the Germans are not exactly a Polaks best friend :).

JustysiaS:

thats not just about Amanda, people should be able to deal with things they might not be happy with, if somebody is giving you grief or saying something you don't like, it does not mean the can 'tea off' either, its a two way street.

Well, I'm not sure if Poland cares too much to about how foreigners perceive her. But I may be wrong..

Amanda91:

Much 'worse' threads have been open to the public for years, you may check them here. This thread is being moved to the public FAQs forum for the world to see, too.

Banning because of somebody's opinion? Never happened to my knowledge. You obviously don't know the real reasons why some might have been banned (like creating multiple accounts, for example), but I have never banned anyone because of their opinions, even if they were utterly stupid..

PolskaDoll:
There are reasons certain threads are closed and they're usually only closed for a short while.

The no. 1 reason (and actually the only reason) why a thread would be closed is that it goes off-topic because two or more posters start to argue over something not related to the topic. If you want to argue, you can use the Random Chat thread instead or your PM system.

Pierogi:
You mean, like the "let's put the user info on the right hand side of the page, despite forum-wide opposition

67% of voters liked it, 11% didn't like it. What kind of 'wide opposition' did you mean?

JustysiaS:

Exactly.

So, if someone has none of those stupid prejudices against Germans, this is seen as unwanted behaviour and threads are therefore closed? Interesting "theory"...

How would you know? Most of the so-called Polish patriots here haven't even met a single German in person. Still they pretend to "hate" them. Kinda weird.

the thread's been closed because of people arguing. i think Amanda was being a bit unsensitive with her comments and it caused some offence.

know that sort of people, very sad indeed

kind of weird but true, believe it or not there are people like this, the world is a weird place.

Admin:

maybe that is part of the problem, maybe she should care about her public image, if Poles complain that people don't like them or that they are picked on. It may have someting to do with Polands image, don't you think??

Admin:

As long as i've been here what Admin is saying here is true, nobody has been banned because of ther point of view, usually it is down to the context of their post breaking the rules.

how about the opposition to moving the whole of the 'off topic threads' from front of house my man, or do you have less eyesight than myself :)

more visitors?? do those numbers calculate into 'members' too? i mean its all good getting 30 '50's' in your cricket career but really you need to convert a high percentage of those 30 into '100's' :)

Just because there are more visitors does not take away the fact that longer serving members have opposed the changes, as i said before comrade Joseph, you pick and choose what facts you like :) anybody can change statistics to support their argument its been going on for years.

if the discussion were that interesting then don't you think they would want to stay (become a member) for more of those 'interesting' discussions???

Anyway you never actually got round to explaining what 'negative' affects the good discussions/threads from the 'off topic' section were, re being on the 'latest discussions' board?

The no. 1 reason:

Abusive (name calling, racist) discussions (about 80% of all alert messages came from one of the Off-topic threads which made up 15% of all threads).
