Kapusta: Not me. If it was me I'd have kicked your arse. if you ever feel the need to kick my rear (verbal) then you can PM me, feel free :) i'm probably not the person you think i am.
Kapusta: ou're just so negative and nasty towards the admin. Rather than look at the situation you just kicked off against the admin. Why? You don't agree with the choice they all made, fine. Just say that, don't write foul abuse like you did. Just say "I do not agree with that decision because....." and people are far more likely to read and rate your reasons. i did write exactly what you said, so did a few other people, yet ignoring that admin just went and made a change anyway. People even quoted admins line and said that it was a bad idea. That is why i'm being negative, apart from the fact it didn't need changing in the first place.
Kapusta: So you've never had a negative comment about any of that then? yes of course i've had negative feedback, not all ideas are right/correct/positive. I call it criticism and criticism is something you are guaranteed to come accross in life.
Kapusta: No one ever said you did a bad job? (to your face) yes of course they have, sometimes they have been right as well, you can't always make the right decision. that means the decision making process was not good enough or you simply were off on the wrong foot when you started. Other peoples views are one of the most important factors in making a decision, admin have ignored that.
Kapusta: And actually, all of that still doesn't mean you owned anything like I said above. I own the football team, In a way i own the classes i run because they are mine (Organised for others). Why is the 'owning' so important to you??
Kapusta: No, I'm saying, from what I have read, whatever PF officials do, you'll argue against. Even if they give you a free dinner and night in a luxury hotel, you'll argue about it. no not at all, i just happened to have lately disagreed with some of the things admin has done/said, anyway you will see what you want to see.
FredChopin: Admin has put almost 4 years of his life into this site. When he started, I am sure it was with the intent of bringing together people (Polish or not) wanting to discuss things related to Poland in an open forum, that stayed on topic. A good exchange of information, news and opinion - Related To Poland. of course and i understand all that, i just wish people would stop thinking i have something against the Polish side of this forum, lol, its the name for heavens sake!!!!! I know that, i'm just confused why something has been done when it was not called for, i'm not saying one is more important than the other, i just want parity.
FredChopin: Over the years, the content of the site has obviously drifted away from what Admin had originally intended is that a bad thing?? has it had a negative affect?? has it meant there is a drop in members?? probably not, in fact maybe it has increased the membership. Sometimes you develop an idea and it expands into something you never imagined it would have, do you think there is a problem with that??
FredChopin: Sure traffic on a website seems like a great idea, if it were a money making venture. But this site isn't a money making venture, so traffic really doesn't enhance the site that Admin originally envisioned almost 4 years ago. In fact, it has worked to the detriment of what he was trying to acheive. By having totally off topic threads dominate the site, it is less likely that people who really know little about Poland, are searching their Polish roots, or want to share their experiences with Poland. i hope your not generalising about people who contribute in the non topic thread?? personally i do post a lot there but i also know about Poland, probably more than the average bear but the fact i'm not always banging on about Poland surely should not affect the way i am viewed as an 'off topic' poster. This traffic that you mention is not getting in the way, it is just in the same place as the Polish/Poland stuff. If you want to find either, you can. What is the difficulty in that?? having them both open to the public and they can pick and choose as they please, rather than having no choice at all.
FredChopin: One of two things is happening here (maybe both simultaneously): 1) Admin is moving back towards the dream he originally had - although many of the current members may not like it. After all it is his site! (note: you should check out a little easy reading book called "Who moved my cheese" by a guy named Spencer Johnson - Book review Here 2) For those that will stick around after the changes are made, there is now an incentive to help cover the costs associated with running the site and want to see it the way it was. I remember when Admin introduced "support the project", people laughed and minimal money came in to help cover the costs "January target $330 - Actual donations $28.72. Then Gold Membership came in and some more of the costs were covered, maybe not all. first thing, i will check out that book, i enjoy a good read and maybe it will expand my horizons :)
As for those points i think they are both happening, i'm dissapointed that admin feels the need to make these changes to generate money but hay thats life the world seems to spin round on a bed of notes
