I don't know but you can easily resize pictures, just type "resize picture" into google and you will find pages where you can do that...

I suppose one reason could be so that you can't cause something to happen - an argument, a provocation, maybe even an insult, then walk away as if nothing had happened. Okay, so it is possible to edit, but at least then, some evidence may remain.

You can ask Admin or a mod to move a redundant post to Random Chat, from whence it will be disposed of in due course.

What is the size of the pictures you can upload?

* JPEG/JPG - maximum of 60 Kb
* GIF - maximum of 60 Kb
* PNG - maximum of 60 Kb
* BMP - maximum of 60 Kb
Sarah:

To prevent posting useless messages.

Sarah:

if you write the text it posts and the pictures dont comes up with errors :/

If the size of the picture is more than allowed, it will show an error message.

Sarah:

Because you cannot return to the past.

Because you cannot return to the past.

I'm not letting everyone and anyone have a go with my time machine, partly because it's an expensive piece of kit and I don't want it to get scratched, but mostly because you could wipe out the entire universe by mistake.

As you can see by what I have just typed, unfortunately it is still possible to post useless messages.

remember when i mentioned user friendlier? here is one of the examples i was thinking of. i'll point to others as i see them mentioned. they are all my personal opinion. others may not find same features friendlier.

If posters were able to delete their own posts, do you think it would be user friendlier? I do not think so -- it would create CHAOS instead.

What if you deleted the post after I answered it, what if thousands of users deleted some posts, would you enjoy reading or participating in such incomplete and random discussions? I'm actually very surprised by your argumentation since someone who thinks logically could easily anticipate what it would be like if it was possible to delete posts.

It would be a miracle if everyone who will try to post a file in the future knows how to check the file size before trying to upload it (even though it's very simple), so I'm sure it will be useful for these members.

it's never been any kind of an issue anywhere i post or moderate. this is the only forum it is or it "could" be, i guess. besides it could be made where a poster can edit his post but not delete it, you know?

the flood controls on here probably bug me more then most other things. i'm on a mega forum with thousands of members from around the globe on at the same time and it has a 5 or maybe a ten sec timeout.. all others have none.. here, the timeout is for ever.. :)

I know, but it doesn't take a genius to edit the comment to 'xxxxx' or '.....' and then the problem would remain.

In order for it be hyper-linked it has to have a unique description. It won't work otherwise.

For example: Will not hyper-link because there is no description.

BBC News Does hyper-link because there is a description.

You're welcome. :)

Also useful if the description is accurate to why the link is being posted. :)

Well it's not as if it's an unthinkable idea, it works on other forums, not saying it would work here but it is implemented in other forums.

I think it's better to know that someone has said something, then removed the content rather than the whole post. But then "bad" posts are moved away and eventually deleted, sometimes dragging otherwise reasonable responses with them.

At last someone has recognised his underhand postings on this site.

Well whoopdeedoo, better get it right the first time then. I have the right to change my post and direction but I don't give a hang if you take that away.

Underhand behaviour gets people ahead these days. Go have a hack at a warmonger. They are completely underhand.

There, 2.55 mins left. Editing is cool.
