I've just highlighted your post Szarlotka because it's the most recent one mentioning lurkers <and I don't wish to single you out> but I would like to make this point.
By jokingly highlighting members names and stating publicly that they are lurking, it may be humorous in the short term but in the longer term it will have the effect of driving them away.
Mufasa and other longer standing , well liked and respected members of this forum should be encouraged to come back and post regularly thereby making the forum a much more livelier and a better place to post. Rather than 'outing' them as lurkers. I would imagine that then makes them less likelier to come back and post again.
Maybe it's just me but I find it slightly mocking in a way to advertise on the forum who you can see is lurking in the background by being online but not posting. As if it is something to be ashamed of, it isn't. Everyone likes to have a peek and look in and most regular members used to post an awful lot on here. I remember when the Forum was a lively, interesting place to post. And it must be a good thing if a lot of the regulars are still coming in to peek. It means they are still interested in PF. Naming them in this way, may stop them from peeking in and thereby losing interest in the forum altogether ?
Maybe the GOLD Members could find a way of actively encouraging them back in a more positive way perhaps ?
