Can't remember the name of the soup???

I want to make some of this Polish soup I used to love but I can't remember the name, it had kielbasa, egg and potato, was kinda sour and is a sort of whitish pink colour.

Does anyone know the name? I dunno if its Zurek or not.

ŻUREK indeed.
the Z at the beginning has a dot over it, pronounced lije G in, for example, the word "genre"

There are two white soups, zurek and barszcz bialy (white barshch), that are very similar. Zurek os more spicy and more sour, white barshch is milder.

Z with a dot is like "ge" in garage [garaz] not [geridz]. You may also try saying "sh" just voiced.

I am also trying to remember the name of a soup!

It's sounds a lot like that soup, except I don't think there is potatoes in it, but I'm not sure.
It definitely has horse raddish, some type of sausage (probably kielbasa) and egg whites in it though. Is it Zurek? Any help would be AMAZING!

The soup is barscz, it has egg. ham fresh and smoked kielbasa and horseradish in it. Can be made with beets. Usually made for Easter. The sour can come from can be pickle juice, lemon, or vinegar. helena

Hello Helena,

Do you have a recipe for this soup? I know my husband has talked about it but didn't know what they called it so I couldn't find a recipe. I would love to have the recipe.

May be Zalewajka (pronounce salevayka) as well which is kind of barszcz biały but with potatoes halfs or quarters) in served locally (Silesia). Good stuff especially with freshly baked and crunchy bread.

I WILL TELL YOU HOW I MAKE IT. LARGE POT WITH WATER ABOUT 1/2 A POT. ADD 1 RING FRESH SAUSAGE COOK 1 HR ADD 1 RING SMOKED SAUSAGE AND COOK BOTH TILL TENDER. TAKE OUT LET IT COOL AND CUT UP SAUSAGE. MAKE A RUE OF 2T. FLOUR AND 4T. BUTTER TO THICKEN BROTH. ADD 1 CUP OR LESS TO YOUR TASTE SOURCRAUT JUICE OR PICKLE JUICE OR A FEW T. SPOONS VINEGAR TO MAKE IT SOUR. ADD 2 CUPS COOKED HAM , CUBED TO THE BROTH. ADD SOUR CREAM 1 CUP TO BROTH. SALT, PEPPER, CUT UP 10 HARD BOILED EGGS ADD TO SOUP. HEAT THROUGH. SERVE WITH CUBED RYE OR PUMPERNICLE BREAD AND HORSERADISH. IF THIS IS TO MUCH SOUP CUT INGREDIENTS IN HALF. I DON'T MEASURE JUST MAKE TO YOUR TASTE
