I need to research factors that affect the availability of food, such as climate, geography, economy, technology and staple foods in Poland.

Also, factors that influence the acceptability of food such as social structure, religion, history and ethnicity.

And information or links to sites where I could find this information would be a huge help, I'm doing this for an assignment in foods class. I'm just finding it hard to locate any of this information and don't know where else to look. Thanks guys! :)

this you assigment its pretty complicated! first of all because polish traditional food is mix of different culuter leaving in polad how, jews, germans, russian, and so on. Last time when I was writing simillar assignment I choose few from the most common foods and according to this I start looking information about them. Example, Bigos about this meal you can found a lot information and history and there is a lot different recepic how prepered this meal.
One good place where look for traditional polish food is go on website of polish turist information center.

Have a look at web pages:
Ministry of Economy (I'm not allowed to leave comments with links so put "www" instead of "ddd" ok?) ddd.mg.gov.pl/English
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (and here too, "www" instead of "ddd") ddd.minrol.gov.pl/DesktopDefault.aspx

Thank you you all for precious info. What are Polish perception towards VIFON, a brand of instant noodle, to your opinion? And what are the most famous instant noodle brand in your mind?

I would say that Knorr are more popular but it's not very topical. VIFON produce a very nice spicy one which may be popular but I don't know. The one to be careful for is Kim Lan. They have an excellent though pricey restaurant here but the noodles, watch out. The noodles to be found are loaded with fat and calories to an incredible level. Look on the back of the packets and contrast their nutritional value. You'd be taken aback. Avoid Kim Lan noodles.

Tao Tao also produce instant noodles. They are more similar to the ones I tried in Japan but not quite as good. They have more than just powders.

One other factor. Many Poles who went to the UK and came back may have been partial to Pot Noodles and the various types available in the UK. That may have triggered a liking for them here.

I hope that helps you, MinhDung.

I loved Choice instant noodle before, but I like my food hot :) (they had really delicious noodles then - haven't seen Choice quite long though - in these days I would shun Vifon but now it's value for money and a variety from the makes of Knorr, Winiary or Amino. I like the taste of the fat attached.
But this is just me. Most people I met (in Poland) couldn't eat the hot stuff I could but when in England I really suffered on some Pakistani food hehehe :)
