We have Gloria Jean's Coffee Beans here in the midwest US. The coffee beans are available for purchase in grocery stores or coffee-product stores, but there are no Starbuck's style cafes in which to sit and enjoy the brewed coffee. It makes a delicious brew, and there are many flavored coffee beans, also (chocolate mint, hazelnut, etc.). Were you planning a cafe or a coffee bean shop?

The Gloria Jean's website says that they have been in business for over 23 years. There are over 100 stores in 24 states, but it doesn't list any franchises outside of the US. So, maybe Warsaw will be their first European outlet?

they have more than 800 coffeeshops worldwide and have opened 2 shops in Warsaw. They are looking for francfisees and I am planning to make investment there. They are very successful in turkey. They opened 75 shops here and may it will be good investment to have a shop in Warsaw earlier than Starbucks.

It might be a good investment to have one in Warsaw earlier than Starbucks. Unfortunately Starbucks opened in Warsaw a couple of months ago. I certainly wouldn't be investing in coffeeshops in Warsaw: the market is very full and coffeeshop company (104 shops in Germany & Austria, plus another 38 in USA) recently closed one of their showpiece Warsaw outlets.

A first mover advantage didn't help the hundreds of thousands of coffee shops across the US that were forced to close by Starbuck's aggressive roll out campaign.

American-style coffee popular in Turkey? Almost like taking coals to NewCastle or selling snow to Eskimos!!!

Starbuck's is already in Warsaw, but this is the first year I've noticed Starbuck's. I still go to other places just as I do in the States. Starbuck's is far from the best coffee.

Turkish coffee is hard to prepare and too strong to drink instead of normal coffee. So even before these chains people like to drink american style coffee in big cities.

The US chain stores follow the filter coffee and percolator sales, where as the international system( reworked in Australia in 1996) uses espresso based drinks.. Starbucks is run by several big Companies, where as Gloria Jean's Coffees operates mainly franchises. each franchisee is thus alot more interested in making his shop special and profitable. This leads to a more consistant cup and a friendlier atmosphere.

There's already Starbucks, Voyage, Kawa w biegu, Green Coffee and the ubiquitous Coffee Heaven.

One chain (a Scandinavian firm, don't remember their name) pulled out of the Polish market due to saturation.

The Gloria Jean's here always look empty.

Not a wise investment.
