Hi All Wroclaw people, finally an Indian restaurant has opened up in town. Broken link removed ul. Ruska 62/63 Wroclaw Going to check it out tonight, will let you all know tomorrow. dave

Hey Dave, Thanks for posting this. Can you try to post the link again? My friend is from Wroclaw and is heading there for a holiday in a couple of weeks, she likes Indian food so I'll be sure to tell her about this place. :)

ok, went for dinner last night, the food was great, service very nice, English menu's should be their this week. Waiting on the king prawns to arrive.

MENU Starters All starters are served with salad and mint yogurt sauce. 1. Onion Bhaji 15 zł The most popular starter in the Indian menu. Delicious spicy fried onion and vegetables balls. 2. Vegetable Samosa 15 zł Deep fried pastry filled with spiced vegetables. 3. Meat Samosa 15 zł Deep fried pastry filled with spiced with minced veal. 4. Chicken Tikka 15 zł Deliciously spiced grilled pieces of chicken. 5. Veal Tikka 15 zł Deliciously spiced grilled pieces of tender veal. 6. Sheek Kebab 15 zł Deliciously spiced minced veal skewered & cooked on grill. 7. Tandoori Chicken 15 zł ¼ chicken marinated and grilled. 8. Prawn cocktail 20 zł 9. Dall Soup 12 zł Lentil soup 10. Mulligatawny Soup 12 zł Spicy curry soup Main Courses All main courses are served with Basmati rice. 1. Chicken Tikka Masala or Veal Tikka Masala 35 zł The most popular main course on the Indian menu and possibly the whole world. It is the national dish of the UK, more than 5 million of these dishes are consumed in the UK every day. Deliciously spiced pieces of tender chicken or veal marinated and grilled, then cooked in the world-famous Masala sauce which is a fantastic explosion of tastes, flavours and aromas. It is spicy, creamy, sweet, tangy and beyond description. You must taste it to understand. 2. Butter Chicken 35 zł Tender chicken marinated and grilled, then cooked in a creamy butter and spice sauce. Our Biryani dishes are cooked with white Basmati rice which is known as the king of rice, produced only in the North Western India State of Punjab. It has a unique aroma and taste. The rice is cooked with chicken, veal. prawns or vegetables in onions and spices, and served with a separate dish of vegetable curry. Sarul Islam: It is the national dish of the UK Sorry but you're wrong on that one, I think you will find it's fish & chips or a full english breakfast or a sunday roast, it is certainly not chicken tika, whilst its popular (or was) its not our national dish! Robin Cook is an idiot! Menu is cheap though, it'll give the drunken Brits somewhere to go after they've had a skinfull ;0)

In a bowl mix together 5 tablespoons of yogurt, then add 2 fresh sprigs of mint, teaspoon of sugar and salt. and a pinch of cayenne pepper. done and simple.

That is great news indeed! At first I was worried that it might be one of these fake ethnic restaurants, but having heard it it the real mccoy I can't wait to go and try the food. I have been waiting for this fo sooo long. I will let everybody know what the verdict is:)

I'm also glad it's finally here. However... why the hell are those dishes so expensive?!? The fact it's the first Indian restaurant in Wroclaw isn't any satisfying explanation or understandable reason, at least for the consumer. Already as the owner of some other oriental cuisine restaurants in UK, you most probably buy all the spices at British wholesale markets or maybe even import the stuff directly from India. I know it's cheap as I've been living in UK for several years and cooking curry myself too. Moreover, all the veggies and meat is much more cheaper here in Poland then in UK, as well as the rent you pay for commercial properties... I'll give the restaurant a try, although won't be able to visit the place as often as I would like to and just because of the cyclopean menu prices that will appear normal only to foreigners... Quite disappointing.

I've had 2 things sent to me by PF members. I extend my gratitude to them. There's not much hope of that here, though. Yes, Seanus, your dansak is in the post. Hmm... There was an Indian joint here but the Poles are not major fans of curry like the Scots are. I've had most types in my time. I had an Indian friend so I was able to sample food from his restaurant. Pasanda is super too.

Wow, what a restaurant! Fantastic food, friendly staff. 10 of us went, English, Finnish, French and Polish. They catered for all of us, both those new to Indian cuisine and others who wanted a nice hot steaming vindaloo (it's since been turned up a notch) ;-) Not to be missed if you're in the area for sure. Walk past Guinnes bar and you're there. See you again soon..and again and again...

Been there! Following the starters (papadums and chutney which were so so - the papadum tasted like the ones you can get in most of the shops) I had a jalafrezi, missus had a korma, both dishes accompanied by basmanti rice. The food was really good! We also had naan with the food, I didn’t want the regular naan so I asked, rather doubting I would get it as they did not have it in the menu, whether they had sweet naan, the waitress looked hesitant but when I added it was called peshwari naan she said she had heard the bosses talk about it - she went and checked and we got it! Had to pay for it a bit extra, but I got what we wanted. Definitely a place to return to. :)

Was there tonight with my wife. Great staff, food average (pilau rice) to _outstanding_, depending on dish. Waited 6 yeras for an Indian meal in Wroclaw and it was worth the wait. Butter Chicken is the best I ever tasted. Spicy potatos too. Naan very slightly sweet - very interesting. Really willing to do anything for customer: waitress was great. I truly hope this restaurant succeeds in Wroclaw, it deserves to. Will be back as soon as we lose weight. Price? Huge meal with naans and popadoms, plus drinks, childrens food and icecream for 150 PLN. So not cheap but not top price for Wroclaw either. Worth every Grosze. Ruska street, can't miss it.

I might have to make a trip up to Wrocław. My jaw almost dropped off as I saw the price of a jar of Sharwoods here, 30PLN. Not even half the size of a meal in a nice Indian restaurant and no atmosphere. Super menu above. I'd love a korma. Yes, I said korma, not k...., oh, never mind :)

To the owner: Writing on behalf of Polish people who do visit your restaurant as well - I see no other way to get in touch with you, to give you some advice in order to make you more successful on the market. Your food is great, so is the service, however, my advice to you is to make the atmosphere more like of a 'theme park'. There is another restaurant serving Indian food in Wroclaw - their food sucks, the service as well, but they have the climate so many Poles are obsessed with these days (Bollywood etc., you know how popular it is - and our people want it). As someone on 'Gastronauci' site observed, your restaurant has the atmosphere of old Polish Republic communist times - with a tablecloth and a flower on each table, with no Indian decorations. I know it isn't very expensive to buy some things to hang on the walls or to put on the tables and then the Poles will be ready to pay you the money you charge (your prices are relatively high, but people will pay if they feel like in India for some time). So, I'm sure if you take some time and money to arrange the interior in an Indian style it will encourage customers. Anyway, I'm glad it's possible to taste some real Indian food (please, consider including REAL Indian tea in your menu - people want it and they know what it should be like). Keep the good job.
