Dadisms...

My Father passed away this week. We kids are putting together a "tribute" to his life by listing a lot of his favorite sayings.

Unfortunately we don't speak Polish and most the time he only used them as "expletives"... which may be frowned upon by polite company.

Could anyone help translate these phonetic sayings (rendered to the best of my ability and memory) and provide near or actual spelling?

Thanks!

sdrova nogi (? legs)

hadah show

sted hymba

stulsa papa

Kashuba

Sorry to hear about your dad.

Perhaps someone will correct these but I think the translation of two of them are.

My dad was 91... so it fits...

thanks for the help... the goal is to capture the person and not offend. We've got quite a collection of English sayings... the Polish ones were often heard but never openly translated by him or his brothers or sisters.

it can be Polish "gada co¶" = "he/she says something"

snbrowse:
sted hymba

it could be "stul gêbê" = which means "shut your mouth" (gêba or papa means mouth)

stulsa looks like "stul siê" and means "shut up"
