Polonius3:
Roadie

That's someone who does the manual work for touring musical groups and ensembles.

Polonius3:
tirówka

When Lee Hazelwood got Nancy Sinatra to sing "These Boots Were Made For Walking", he suggested to her that she sing it like she's "a fifteen year old girl who goes with truck drivers". If it had been "Te Buty Uszyli Spacerowaniu" would he have used the word tirówka and would her father still have been involved in such dodgy circles?

If a ciężarówka is similar to yet smaller than a tir, could a tirówka also be a ciężarówkówka?
I'm actually just slightly shocked by Krysia's list.

A British term might be Yorkie Bar. It's a little dated in concept, but in the 1980s, adverts for this confectionary product were based on their suitability for and alleged popularity with lorry drivers.

As usual you are looking for the worst form. Tirówka means prostitute. Nothing more, nothing less.
And 'truck trash' is two words.

Tirowka, is derived from 'TIR' as seen on the back of trucks ('Transit International Routier')

And, has anyone noticed that a lot of 'Tirowka' look like swarthy Romanians ?

Krysia -- Are you a slangologist? Where do you get these? Are these for real? If so, it's an imrpessive line-up. Reckon I don't move in truckers' circldes that much.

Maybe because they are?
A lot of them are brought into the country on false pretences by human traffickers, and then forced to work as sex slaves :-(

Commercial Company: n./slang: term for trashy, street-level, female prostitutes (lot lizards) who frequent some truck-stop parking lots and rest areas at night. Same as lot lizard, but less derogatory. (Commercial company is the term lot lizards commonly use to refer to themselves -- they never call themselves lot lizards.)
Same as: lot lizard; lizard; pavement princess; sleeper leaper; mattress maiden;

"Commercial company channel 25, any drivers needing some commercial company go to channel 25." (Lot lizard broadcasting on CB radio channel 19)

And here I thought they were selling strawberries, cherries, mushrooms etc. that were hiding their produce behind the bushes to protect it from exhaust fumes. Go Figure.

Oh, causal racism thrown into the conversation without any care at all! You really are learning the ways of small town Poland, aren't you?

Perchance, a bit of observational statistics? I am sure if one in ten resembled somebody of Roma heritage, it wouldn't be worth a mention. But if more than half resembled somebody of Roma heritage, it might be.

Possibly, but a) you're confusing Roma and Romanian and b) there's no need to talk about women looking "swarthy".

Quite possibly Paulie was. I think they look like Roma.

As for the swarthy part, maybe it is a result of standing outside and being exposed to too much sunlight. A lot of Poles are fair skinned.
