Hello,

I have a Polish friend, a girl. she just wrote me that she had a new boy-friend. She was writing about him and I think she compares him to her previous boyfriend who was Italien. I don't understand this part of her phrase:

"fajnie się gada i cóż po Włochu"

I don't understand exactly what "gadać się" means and how to translate "cóż" in this case.

Hmmm my try (I'm not Polish, so it's a bit of a guess): He talks nice when he says something in Italian.

Or maybe; he talks nice and he speaks some Italian as well.

OK I'm adding something because maybe it's important in the phrase structure with "co za"

I think 'co za miła odmiana w łóżku' means: 'what a nice variation in bed'. So maybe she means: it's nice to speak in Polish with the new bf (or with you), and to speak in Italian with the old bf as well.
Just my two grozny. :P

thanks for trying to help me but I think I'm farther in translation than you ;-). What I'd like is a Pole on this forum to give me an accurate translation because: 1) I'm a perfectionist and 2) she talks about something touchy and I want to be sure I understand exactly what she wrote. So I'll repeat:

She broke up with her Italian boyfriend.
Now she has a new boyfriend and she describes him:
"He is this, this, this, he does that, that, that, [and finishes her phrase with] fajnie się gada i cóż po Włochu, co za miła odmiana w łóżku."

Thanks for giving me an accurate translation.
