It's only a proposition if you are talking about the small place beside the kitchen sink. There are easy-to-clean tiles to keep the area in a clean state. The rest is from wood/veneer.

This is only a suggestion as far as the kitchen sink corner is concerned. There are tiles which make the area easy to clean. The rest [of the kitchen presumably] has a wooden / veneer finish.
