My girfriend has a dog that is a mixed -breed. He is part chihuahua, and something else. I always thought he was a mini pincher. She asked tonight the english name for a "ratlerek". While I guessed "rotweiller" I. am not sure.

Google translator and other resources have been no help so far.

Does anyone here know about this breed of dog?

Thank you, though I do not think this is the answer she wants to hear when we talk about her beloved "Tobi" ;-)

Everything I see all over the 'net seems to indicate the Ratlerek Miniaturka is essentially the same breed as the Mini-Pinscher or "Min Pin" .. no definitive answer though ..

A ratlerek is a ratler and a raterka is a ratter bitch.

The web isn't lying to you, "ratlerek" is a common name for mini pinscher :) I guess that sth like "pinczer miniaturowy" would be the proper name for "ratlerek" in Polish.

"ratlerka", as in "Mam małą ratlerkę"? To be honest, I've never heard it in my life, but perhaps it's used, I don't know.

Ahh ...

Searching "pinczer miniaturowy" turned up enough confirmation to satisfy me, including an entry at "dict.pl" Polish-English dictionary. Even Google understands this (!) but other sources show the connection between the Raterek and "Min Pin" names.

You have made my girlfriend happy, and when she is happy everything is right in my world :)
