Once again, I'm having communication probs with my Polish BF. I want to apologise and was wondering if he following would in a simple form be okay?

Prosze sie nie gniewa na mnie. Ja bardzo przepraszam. Kocham cie!

I really am trying....... ;-)

"Please do not be angry with me. I (greatly) beg your pardon. Love you!"

Not bad but it reads better in Polish. Good luck.

cable:
... Ja bardzo przepraszam....

ZIMMY:
I (greatly) beg your pardon.

Accually it simply means : " I'm very sorry" which we express in Polish by "przepraszam", if we really feel sorry for doing something wrong.

that's what begging pardon means..

it's too official and not really the meaning of Polish "bardzo przepraszam",has nothing to do with begging.

"Wybacz mi "- is more like "I beg your pardon"

'I beg your pardon' also has another meaning.
When someone says something uncouth in a conversation, something which ought not to be said, we say 'I beg your pardon!'. It has nothing to do with apologising for anything.
It means in Polish - 'co ty sobie myslisz, mowic tak do mnie'.
Two women in conversation, one of them divorced. The other woman says: 'All divorced women are desperate', the first one retorts rather loudly 'I beg your pardon' - something of this nature.
To beg 'a pardon' - used to be used whern Kings ruled the earth and mere plebs had to fights for their lives.

"(Bardzo) przepraszam" means both "I'm sorry (wybacz mi or przykro mi)" as well as "Excuse me" in Polish.

"I beg your pardon" can be expressed in two different intonations. In the context described above it would mean: "Wypraszam sobie!"; in the other intonation it would mean: "Bardzo przepraszam!" in the sense of "I'm sorry". (I hope I'm correct on the point of intonations.)
