"Proszę daj..." seems a little strange to me.

Proszę + infinitive is the normal for formal imperative (proszę dać). Is this an exception here?

Can someone please explain.

You're right SzwedwPolsce,

accurate translation should be "Proszę dać ten list Annie". I put comma in translation and changed "dać" to "daj". I thought my translation will be a bit softer.

Proszę, daj ten list Annie

Seems good for me, it's colloquial form, but it is used very often.
You could also write: Proszę przekaż ten list Annie
przekaż = delver, to pass, to hand over

Proszę, daj ten list Annie

This is totally correct and I can not think of any other way of saying the same thing.

Then you are lucky, that's all I can say.

Maybe even more creative, or better educated?

Every form used is correct, and it's true :

It is possible to say/write it in many other ways.

but not right.

Haha.. are you joking?

And by the way, we already have 3 different expressions in this thread that are correct.

Proszę uprzejmnie dać ten list ku Annie does this therefore suffice for examples?

Nope.

"Proszę przekazać Annie". There is really no need to specify that it is a letter - they know it. But anything is better than "proszę daj" ;-) .
