When two people are walking and one wants to tell the other to "go this way" or "in this direction," can he say, id¼ w tej stronie?

W tym kierunku is better :) or direct with the hand and say 'id¼ dalej, prosto'.

If you want to employ the word strona, it should be "id¼ w tê stronê" (telling directions with the "w" preposition needs the accusative rather than the locative), although most people will tell you "id¼ w t± stronê". But yes, Seanus' version sounds better.

the shortest version is "idz tam" (and then you point a direction with your finger) :)

You are welcome. It's good to get the opinion of resident Poles. My intuition is getting steadily better but the Poles have naturally been using the language for much longer than I have.
