Does zrobię się mean I'll do it? What's the difference between zrobię and zrobię się? My cousin was telling her husband about some odd jobs around the house, and he kept saying zrobię się. I wonder why he didn't just say zrobię?

you can say: "zrobię się głodny" - "I will make myself hungry" - if you wanna talk like a crazy dude

zrobię się and zrobię have completely different meaning

zrobię się głodny - means I will get hungry

zimno się zrobiło - it got/became so cold

zimno mi się zrobiło - I got cold - but in the context it is used in Polish the English would say simply I am cold (I have a feeling I got cold is not used in reference to the present but rather the past - perhaps I got cold already would be different but I am not really proficient in English)

of course base meaning of zrobić is to do

further exapmles of zrobiło się

zrobiło się ciemno/jasno - it got/became dark/bright

zrobiło się późno - it got late - but in the context most used in Polish the English counterpart would rather be - it's late: zrobiło się późno, chyba pójdę już do domu - It's late (already), I (guess I) should be going home

Trzeba ten płot pomalować, panie Janku.

Zrobi się, pani Kowalska.

This fence needs painting, Mr Janek.

(It) will be done, Mrs Kowalska.

aaa - the dialogue can continue as follows

Panie Janku, samo się nie zrobi.

It won't get done by itself, will it?

No problem. Ok. Ok. Will be done.

zrobi się has a self-reflective meaning.
it refers to the action itself and the object which, in fact, sometimes becomes the subject of something similar to passive voice.
the exaple with the fence refers to the fence itself,
as if it would paint itself.
it is a self-reflecting construction. nothing similar in English, unfortunately.
I can use Spanish grammar to describe it, if it would be of any help.

regards.

Yes there is.
Zrobi się - It'll be done
"się" refers to "self"

"się" is the Polish reflexive pronoun, equivalent of English "oneself".

Slightly off-topic, I find this expression cool because, according to my dictionary, "bóstwo" means "divinity" :-). So far the only expression I knew for "I'll make myself look good" was the more neutral "Upiększam się".

Upiększam się is actually a present tense (future tense must be: Upiększę się - I'll make myself look good/Będę się upiększać - I'll be making myself look good)
Zrobię się na bóstwo - future tense
Robię się na bóstwo - present tense

I'm glad you like this expression and I hope it helps!

It's the reflexive pronoun. But alone it doesn't mean anything at all, because it can't stand alone.

Zrobię się na bóstwo / Slightly off-topic,

Not at all - Jump Bunny used the most common phrase in Polish language. Slang, but nevertheless the most common term of 'zrobię się (na bóstwo)'.

Honestly I have never ever heard other combination of 'zrobię się / zrobić się'.

What about "zrobię się czerwona" - "I'll blush"?

zrobić się w bambuko - same as above
zrobić się na dywan - to get so drunk you end up on a floor

could think of few more.
