Hello; As I wondered about our Polish family having dark complexions,we ran our Dna and found out that our ancestors of 10,000 years ago originated in Persia. These haplotype groups are still in Persia today. DNA is the way to go for answers.

Rofl no you are Polish.

@AussieShiela no there is not really. There are a lot of racists in Poland but I don't think they are racist to other Slavs.

On the idea that all Polish are blonde blue eyes it is absolute ********. most poles have brown hair, dark brown, many I know who most idiots would pass as as a Grek or a turk but do not realise Polska has many like this too.

And being Polish living in Australia where I have dark hair, eyes and olive skin we also get a hard time in Australia with Slavs being apart of what you call a wog (Southern and Eastern European)

Shame that a lot of racism goıng on, why the scandinavians wıth blue eyes and blond are considered superior?
No one is better just because they are blond?
Who's spread these kınd of ideas for centruies, claiming the arabs, turks, gypsies and jews are inferior?
Thıs ıs a crime, a crime of humanity...

Why do people think that if someone is dark, he looks like a Turk? Why not thinking the other way around? saying that a Turk looks like a Spaniard or so? What I've noticed is that people tend to be compared to something that other people consider inferior. Example: An Italian might be compraed to an Arab, and a Greek might be compared to a Pakistani.

Greek to Pakistani? If you derive from the latter the smell, the black colour, the feminine stature and the fat lips and other Asian characteristics, maybe yes.
Greeks look European. If you meet Greeks of second generation in Germany you might think they are Germans, they don't differ much from Bavarians.

Because they have mixed with Germans. I'm sorry, but the Greeks I've known here have restaurants and so on...they mix only with other Greeks and look Greek. I can't distinguish a Greek from a Turk. Both use like 10 kgs of gel on their hair, cheap leather jackets and love blonde girls :P

You like folklore.Greeks are not like that.We are the great fekers in the Balkans.
Polish girls think we are gay when they come to Greece because we have so much style and take care of our clothes and appearance.(Not exactly the same as Italians but close.)

On the other hand, Turks were shamans just like Native Americans before they were budhist, taoist and christian. (Gee, you must be surprised :) But, yes, Turks were christian too when they were in central Asia.) We still have lots of traditions which date back to shamanism. Even, the "alevi" or "Bektashi" ways of Islam -which are a part of Turkish culture- contain more shamanic contents.

Good informative post, Suildir. But, the science (capitalism science!) will distort all truths so to make advantage for themselves to make money.

By the way, a clarification to your this paragraph from me. Turks were Tengrists, rather than Shamans. So were Native Americans. Most important sign of Tengrism is Evil Eye object (gok boncuk originally) which is a Blue Eye and the symbol of Sky God. You see widely used everywhere Turkey and in Turkic countries even though Islam forbids this object. Another important similarity is burning "uzerlik" plant (i dont know in English) which is burnt and its smoke is blown onto a person who is supposed to be exposed to an evil eye (jealous eye). This is also still done by Native Americans. All ancient Tengrist traditions. I remind you people use Tanri in Turkey without knowing that Tanri is forbidden by Islam as it is not a name of Islam God.

Another clarification.. Turks are not only black hair, etc. Since they have been spreaded everywhere in the world, their colors change a lot from black hair, to yellow, to red, to blue eyes, to tall, to short. Just an example, Khazars are red hair tallk Turks... All these physical appearences are determined by climate. This has nothing about the race or the nation. If you live in a cold country like Poland or Norway, you will have to change in time to protect yourself by becoming whiter and whiter so you will be in harmony with the climate, with the snow. Look at the bears at the poles of world and in other parts of world. In cold regions, they get whiter. So simple. So, stop racistic absurd things about the color. Colors follow the sun and the climate, so simple.

A response to OP's post. In 1700s, no Turk moved to America. Those who moved to there as a group were some folks of Ottomans (an empire with a mix of several cultures and nations) and those who moved to America continent were mostly Arabs of Syria and Egypt. But, Latin Americans called all Ottomans as Turks, of course, wrong. Just example. Former Argentina president was known as El Turco while his ancestors were actually Ottoman Arabs. So, your ancestors can be Arabs rather than Turks.

Suildur and Nomaderol,

You made perfect summaries about Turks. Turks know their past and place in the world history.

We are all aware of the intentions of the west world and in the middle term it is inevitable we will again be a main actor in the world.
