Need help with new surname, DOLENGEWICZ

Anthony and Elizabeth Dolengewicz had 13 children. I am the daughter of their son Jerome. My name is also Elizabeth after my aunt and grandmother. Anthony was born on the boat from Poland and immigrated to America from Canada. We have his immigration papers. They eventually settled in Jamaica NY and then Patchogue NY.

They went from Poland to Canada, then to the United States. I dont know when or anything. his name was Anthony Dolengewicz born late 1890s maybe? any help is greatly appreciated

Dolengewicz looks to be a respelling or misspelling of Dołęgiewicz. Statistical proof for that hypothesis is provided by the fact that there are 161 people in Poland named Dołęgiewicz, only 7 who spell it Dołengewicz and 25 who use the Dołengiewicz version. Białystok and environs are the name's major stronghold.
