It was called Rebielice,a little town near Rebielice Krolewskie (to day Slask).
The little town is dieaspered after the Second World War?

Pan Wroclaw!
I remember that Rebielice is around the Liswarta river. About 20 - 25 km northwest from
Czestochowa near Mokra. There was a big battle there under the attack on Poland. Also
figthing near Wilkowiecko where my father was baptized in St.Mikolaj church. At that time
my father was living in Denmark in a city called Sonderborg in South Jutland. This part of Denmark has been occuped of the Germans from 1864 -192o,where it became danish again
1957 was my father killed in a motorbike accident. After a while by the Saint Hedwig sisters
schoolhome,my mother,sister and I moved to Copenhagen.Our name is Leszczynski,but we
have also called us Lesenski,Is there many Leszczynscy in Poland? Before my family came to Denmark had my grandparents worked in Breslau, where my fathers big sister was born.

5-6 km east from Wilkowiecko and 8-9 km from Mokra. In the area there is a place called
Kamienszczyzna (in 1939 Szczyzna - Leszczyna)the last part it maybe the origin of my fami -
lyname? I will be greatfull if yoy can get some informations what happened with Rebielice?
Is the place smashed under the Second World War or what?To day its Klubucku powiat.....

About Dankow it is about 1-2 km from Lipie and 4 km to Rebielice Szlacheckie.
Myy grandmothers familyname was Balcerzak, but her mothers family had Leszczynski name.
My grandfather Roch and my grandmother Katarzyna Balcerzak was born in Dankow.
Some of the family had a Mill.

If someone has already provided this information sorry for the response.

The villages/towns of Lipie, Dankow, Reebielice, Reebielice Szlacheckie, and Reebielice Krolweskie still exist. On September 1, 1939, the German 7th Reconnaissance Battalion of the 4th Panzer Division passed over the bridge at Reebielice heading east toward Mokra. It does not appear there was any fighting in Reebielice.

On January 16, 1945, the city of Czestochowa was captured by Russian units. It is unlikely that there was any fighting in the area of Reebielice at that time.

Regards,

John.

Jola,

All the places you are looking for are on most maps. I did find them for you, and statistics about size, population etc. But you were corresponding with someone else about the names in your family, which seemed more important to you at the time, so I didn't post.

I'll post the links later this evening.

Marco Polo Polska Atlas Drogowy 1:200 000. Scan and then crop the area you are interested in. Blow up the cropped area and you have great detail. There are also 1:100 000 maps and military topo maps.

Satellite maps have great detail, but I can't post the web site for you?

Detailed population and history of small villages is available on numerous sites sponsored by Jewish individuals or organizations. Some of this information is simply not available anywhere else. Even if the specific information is not relevant to your search, you may find gneral information and photos useful. It takes a lot of surfing.

thanks john
but i cant find rebielice.

The largest city in the area is Czestochowa. Follow highway 43 to Klobuck. Continue to Krzepice. In the middle of Krzepice turn right and follow a small road north east toward Dankow. From Dankow follow the Liwarta River and you run into Rebielice.

worldmaps.web.infoseek.co.jp/poland_guide.htm

The satellite map will show the roads and towns.

Dziekuje pan Wroclaw.
Thats rigtht. Its a rebielice near Rebielice Szlacheckie - but it cant be the same place as
my father was born. I was tolded that R. was about 5-6 km from R.S. near Mokra. In a book
of Janusz Piekalkiewicz about the attack on Poland - there is a describtion from the battle
between the nazis and the kavelarydivision "Wolynska". the Wolynska position was in Rebielice, between Mokra and Rebielice Krolewskie.
Im now confused. Here a descibsion I had on polish:
Panski ojciec orodzil sie - jak sadze w Rembielach Krolewskich ktore do 1991 r. nalezaly do
parafii kosciola katolickiego w Wilkowiecko.
w niewielkej odleglosci napolnoc od Rebielicic Krolewskich lezy wies Rebielice Szlacheckie.
Ponniewaz w metryce urodzenia Pana Stanislawaeszczynskiego jest przytoczone okreslenie
"Pfarramt in Wilkowiecko" czyli parafia w Wilkowieckostad wnioskuje ze miejscem urodzenia
Panskiego ojca byly Rebielice Krolewskie.
Please yranslated.......
pozdrowienia z

Jola:

The positions of the German and Polish units during the Battle of Mokra is reported differently by each side and movements during the battle are fairly complex. Given that, the following units of the Wolynska Brigade and their initial positions should be fairly close. Starting in the north:

1st Battalion of the 19th Lancers were initially positioned near Kamienszcyzna.

4th Battalion of the 19th Lancers were initiially near Rebielice.

1st Battalion of the 21st Lancers on the edge of the forest just east of Rebielice Krolewskie.

3rd Battalion of the 21st Lancers on the edge of the forest just south of Rebielice Krolewskie defending against a German advance from Opatow and Wilkowiecko toward Mokra III.

12th Lancers Regiment on the edge of the forest just east of Mokra II.

2nd Horse Artillery on the edge of the forest just north of Mokra III.

4th Battalion of the 21st Lancers in the forest area just west of Mokra III defending against a German advance from Opatow and Wilkowiecko.

4th battalion of the 84th Infantry Regiment south of Mokra III defending against a German attack from Walenczow.

2nd Battalion of the 21st Lancers south east of Wilkowiecko on open ground.

The 53rd 'Smialy' Armoured Train just east of Mokra III.

2nd Mountain Rifles, 21st Armoured Troop, and possibly the 82nd Anti-aircraft Battalion east Mokra III and the railroad line.

Dear John.
Iam greatefull of your informations!
Some years ago I was in contact with powiatu Klobucki, because I had doubt where my father precisly was born. The powiat send me a map of the area.the polish official had signed a mark where Rebielice had been.It was southwest of Rebielice nearly Mokra nr.?
Southly some km. is Wilkowiecko where my father wad baptized.

In the danish translation of the positions of "Wolynska" stand some of them in front -"face
to face" position to the german - in the edge of Rebielice near Mokra.

Like Rebielice Sz. and Krolew. there must had in 1939 existed two more places called Rebielice.

I hope I some day can visited Rebielice and Dankow ,but I have some problems with the
transport.Iam physically handicapped ,and have cognitive problems,so I must not drive.
My wife is scared to drive car in a foreign country and I cant ride by train or flying, when I need my minicrosser to transport. Im now a middleage man (56 year) so I look much in the
past and my familys roots. My children (and wife) are not so interested as Iam -thats quite nomally I think.
The polish is assimileted in danish idendity.

The archives have extensive marriage and other information for the area arround Wilkowiecko up to 1853, perhaps later.

The areas surrounding the towns you have named are all agricultural fields. I have looked at old nineteenth century maps and only the towns we have already discussed appear. In this area the towns that appear on current maps have been there at least one hundred and fifty years. Even the roads have not changed much. I think what you see is what you get.

John.

Dziekuje pan.
Thans for the link. I have seen a old map from this area and sw from rebielice krol.
there are drawn two or three houses. Its also really near Mokra and southly is Wilkowiecko marked. I think this place is Rebielice - not a really village or town.

Im waiting for a translation from polish to english maybe this can satisfied me?

The Battle of Mokra took place on September 1, 1939 near the village of Mokra, north-west of Częstochowa.
JOHN.....mokra is near Miedzno in 1939 - like Rebielice apart of Kielce powiatu.
My fathers birthplace Rebielice must be in this area of Mokra I and R.ebielice Krol.
the churchdistrict of Rebielice on that time was Wilkowiecko, and not as Rebielice near
Rebielice Szl. there was a part of Dankow churchdistrict......
