The moikrewni surname-tracing site often incldues the number of Polish name-bearers in neighbouring Germany. However, the number is based on telephone book entries which are multiplied, I belive, by 2.5 to give the estimated number of namesakes. However, more and more people are using only cellphones and disconnecting their landline phones. I am wondering therefore whether the reliabiltiy of such estimates is not gradually decreasing. I have also heard that people in Poland are also disconnecting landline phones. Anyone know?
