Szlachta... What's your opinion?

Since I am from a Szlachta family I know alot about my family and history, tho other may have experienced something more special or wants to know more about it (Or even spread terrible lies :(( )

My family from my Mother's side came from the noble family (Szlachta) from Kresy (today's border between Lithuania and Belarus). They were exiled from there after a Bolshevik revolution.
However I don't know a lot about my family history cause my Great-Grandmother, who was teaching me about our family roots past away when I was eleven.

My grand-parents from my dad's side came from the parts of Europe now being Ukraine.
Not sure if they were szlachta (nobles) but SURE I am :)

Well good that this thread is responded to!

My grand grand father fought in Warsaw uprising and survived and were allowed to settle down in Warsaw (wierd tho) and even earlier tip-tip-tip grandfather was fighting in I think January uprising. Some parts are from Lithuania and other from Germany but allways lived in Poland and looked upon them as Poles (When the Germans afked my grand grandfather if he wanted to have German citizenship he refused because he said: I am Polish)
